    Deadpool spinoff

Will there be a Deadpool spinoff? Well, yeah. Probably. Just as long as X-Men Origins: Wolverine makes enough money.
    SOURCE

UK, April 16, 2009 - The co-creator of Deadpool says there are definite plans for a spin-off movie, if enough fans show up at theatres to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Artist Robert Liefeld (who along with writer Fabian Nicienza developed the character) said via Twitter last week that the producers of Wolverine told him there were "definite plans to spin off Deadpool if the box office works."

He went on to say that Wolverine's much-discussed reshoots were planned to give more screen time to Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, and that the actor was "chosen specifically with the idea that he would carry [a possible] solo film."

We'll have to wait two weeks, when Wolvie hits screens worldwide, to see if the film makes enough cash to give the wise-cracking mercenary his own film.
    Aaaaaaand...

    SOURCE
Alex Billington from FirstShowing.net attended a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where director Gavin Hood revealed that there will be multiple secret endingS for the movie. Billington confirmed that the secret ending he saw contained Deadpool. This might confirm the hints from Rob Liefeld that Fox is definitely planning a spinoff.
As for the secret ending we saw tonight, I'll only say that it featured Deadpool, but I won't say anything more, as I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone. We'll let you know when we hear any more about the secret endings in Wolverine, including how many there are and what they are.
Now, yes. I know the character was adapted horribly into the movie. We have Tom Rothman to thank for that. But , Ryan Reynolds has stated that this version isn't really the final version of the character. It's what becomes the beloved Deadpool we all know and love. The character has been talked about for a solo movie ever since Blade: Trinity was released, so I'd say that a spin off is very likely.

Picture reference for those who aren't up on the news or know who Deadpool is.
    Deadpool in the comics-

    Deadpool on film-

Clearly different. Not only visually, but power wise. In the comics, the only power 'Pool has is the ability to regenerate. In the film, he can regenerate, has retractable blades, teleportation, and optic blasts.

As for the multiple endings, it's 20th Century Fox, after all. They're not known for making popular decisions. I personally don't like it, but I can't do anything about it. Who knows? Maybe it'll even be cool. Just as long as all of them are leaked online and included into the DVD.

As long as the spinoff doesn't have this stupid Baraka reject

Honesty I don't see them doing Deadpool any justice. It's been awhile since I've even picked up a comicbook so who really knows.

I won't be contributing to Wolverine so I'm not investing in a Deadpool spinoff.

F' FOX and their shitty comic book movies.

    Deadpool spinoff confirmed

Reynolds to star in 'X-Men' spinoff
Fox has begun development on 'Deadpool'
    By MICHAEL FLEMING

Twentieth Century Fox has begun development on "Deadpool," an "X-Men" spinoff that will be crafted as a star vehicle for Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

The character is one of the most popular in Marvel Comics' X-Men universe. Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible semi-sane anti-hero. Reynolds seemed destined to play the character. In one reference in the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar Pei and Ryan Reynolds."

In one of the "Easter egg" endings of "Wolverine," Deadpool is seen rising from the rubble and whispering "Shhh" to audiences.

The film will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel.

Fox is also in the formative stages of a "Wolverine" sequel that will encompass the samurai storyline that was hinted at as Wolverine sat in a bar in Japan as the film concluded

Separately, Fox is developing "Magneto," a film about the X-Men villain with a script by Sheldon Turner, and "X-Men: First Class," which Josh Schwartz is penning.
Hope they lock in Reynolds and don't nickle and dime him. First time I heard about X-Men: First Class, wonder what that's all about.

That ending with Wolverine at the bar was a waste of film.

Fresh off the muscular performance of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" at the boxoffice, Fox has thrown into development a spinoff featuring Deadpool, the wise-cracking mercenary played in the film by Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds is attached to reprise the character for what for now is simply being called "Deadpool." Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios would act as producers.

Deadpool is known as "the merc with a mouth," a character that under Reynolds lived up to his billing in "Wolverine" until the end, when the movie deviated from the comic book persona, imbuing him with several superpowers and sewing his mouth shut.

It is understood that Reynolds would regain the ability to mouth off, with the movie going back to the roots of the character known for his slapstick tone and propensity to break the fourth wall. The character also was disfigured in "Wolverine," though it's unclear at this time how much the studio would want to mess with Reynolds' handsome mug.

The project is out to writers.

Fox considered a "Deadpool" spinoff early in "Wolverine's" development process, which is why it cast Reynolds. The actor was brought back in the month before the movie's release to shoot one of two "Easter egg" scenes that appeared after the end credits. The scene showed Deadpool alive, though when last audiences saw him, he appeared to be dead.
It's official: The mutants are taking over Hollywood. And we're not talking about the freaks running the studios.

Following the monster weekend for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and a day after announcing that a Hugh Jackman-powered sequel is in the works, 20th Century Fox has confirmed to E! News that Jackman's costar Ryan Reynolds will be given his own spinoff and potential franchise-launcher as the Marvel Comics antihero Deadpool.

The 32-year-old Canadian actor, otherwise known as Mr. Scarlett Johansson, will again star as Wade Wilson, a wisecracking, cancer-stricken mercenary who's cured of the disease after undergoing the same Weapon X genetic alteration as Wolverine.

But along with superhuman powers, enhanced strength and self-regenerating healing powers, the slightly unhinged Deadpool can absorb the abilities of dead and captured mutants.
Looks like it's gonna happen. This quote intrigues me, though-
But along with superhuman powers, enhanced strength and self-regenerating healing powers, the slightly unhinged Deadpool can absorb the abilities of dead and captured mutants.
The whole absorbing thing I'm not too hot about. But you know what? That would be ten times closer to the true character than what we got in Wolverine. Bring it on, Deadpool movie.

So how many endings exactly are there? I saw the one where Wolverine is in Japan and I caught the horribly-dark one of Deadpool on youtube. Is that all?

    Possible SPOILER below ...

I heard about 3 endings with the third one being Wade Wilson finding the decapitaded Deadpool and saying something like "who the hell are you supposed to be". So maybe the Deadpool we saw was a clone of some sort perhaps ? I dont know really but then again i read about and did not see it myself, so i dont know if it is true.

deadpool is by far my favorite marvel character. I pick up his comics every month. I was so pissed off with how they were treating DP in the Wolverine movie that I didn't go see it. And I won't go see it. Wolverine doesn't need me to help it make money. It'll make enough on its own. I do though think Ryan Reynolds is the perfect guy to play deadpool, and I would love to see a spin-off. But I hope its not another excuse to rape the character again.

I have seen the only two endings I know of and I haven't actually talked to someone who's seen any other one. The Internet is a large place, so I figure that had their been more than two endings, someone would have seem them.

If they would stick with the comic format it could be good (But somehow I highly doubt that sigh) at least make it rated R
