Dead Rising 2 Official!(With pics)

We were pretty sure that Dead Rising 2 video was real on Friday, now we're positive, with Capcom officially announcing the game coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Capcom says that Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a "new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies" and a chance to kill them in fun ways in the gambling paradise of Fortune City.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the zombie invasion of Willamette, Colorado. Unfortunately, Capcom tells us, that zombie virus was not contained at the end of the first game and spread unchecked throughout the U.S. Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

As we had heard long ago, Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with Canadian developer Blue Castle Games as well as a number of members from the original Dead Rising team, including Keiji Inafune, who as the game's Producer, will play an active role in the project.

The announcement promises that further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly. But what we already know is pretty interesting: It's multiplatform. Hey Capcom UK, I guess Brian Ashcraft didn't mistranslate that interview after all!

from what is known the game is taking place in a Las Vegas mock, known as Fortune City, It doesn't look like Frank is returning..new weapons include Dirt Bikes and an American Gladiators style hamster ball..so far so good.

that happen to me in Saints Row 2. like i just finished off the last gang, but i forgot to save and it froze..now im back at like 3 missions into that Gang...havent playd since

Great news about the multiplatform thing. I never played the first one but it looked like a very enjoyable game. I will be picking this up now that it is coming out on PC and PS3.

first one was a great concept, and really fun to play a times. But the game was so aggrevating that I never finished it. You had to do things in real time and if you didn't save 40 times in 2 minutes you had to start over. Hopefully the sequal won't be so annoying.

Awesome news, the 1st was fun as hell! Creaming the zombies with a car in the underground car park to get the Zombie Genocider achievement was cool for about 5mins...

It was a pain not having auto-save but that was apparently something Capcom was going for to make it more challenging. It would have been nice to have an Auto-Save on/off option though, and left it up to the gamer to decide what they wanted.
