I need a general consensus on favorite Dario Argento flims

Wow that's a cool new feature that finds similar threads before you post. I was hoping that this wasn't going to be a recent double post. (havent posted in awhile)

Anyways, I've watched a couple Dario Argento films lately and I really like his style. I caught Suspiria and Jenifer. The atmosphere he creates puts chills down my spine, keeping it "old-school" and I like that from time to time.

So what is everyone's top Dario Argento favorites? If you dont have any then just move on please.

    I loved Deep Red.

    Tenebre was sweet.

Suspiria was a work of art in cinema form.

Phenomena is probably my fav non-giallo of his.

How does Argento "keep it old school" in Suspiria exactly? Seeing as how one could make the point that the film itself is "old school".

My favorite film of his is Phenomena.

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

Last film to use Technicolor for one. Influences from Hitchcock another.

Mother of Tears: The third mother/Demons (although not directed by him. He and Bava tore it up in that one.)

Well i suppose i was mostly referring to Jenifer. As well as the way he uses ZERO CGI. He scares you with the picture as a whole instead of random "Boo's" here and there. Y'know, old school.

    Sweet, well thanks guys.
From the looks of things i'll have to check out Opera and Tenebre first.
    I'm on it

Opera had me head-banging at least three times!
    Tenenbrae was really good
Dario also has two really good episodes of master of horror, one called pelts and one called jenifer, check both of them out for sure!

True, should check out his short stories on Masters of Horror. Nice quick trips into his work.

Thats nearly impossible to say, I can rate my top 5 favorites but in no particular order because each of them are amazing in their own right and all deserve to be number one:

    Tenebrae
    Suspiria
    Opera
    Deep Red
    Bird with the Crystal Plumage

I also have a huge affinity for Cat O' Nine Tails, although I know its an inferior film. There is something very likeable about the plot and characters, and I have never looked at milk the same way again!
