I have a few hundred dvds, some of them are over 10 years old now. A lot of them don't work properly when I try to play them. A lot of them are from the US, so I can only play them on my computer. I'm going to be throwing most of them away.

In the near future, dvds/blu-rays will become obsolete, anyway. It's all going to be digital. I don't see the point in keeping a collection of useless/broken/outdated items.

I think the first time your computer crashes, whatever server that holds your digital files decides to delete a file (for whatever reason), or you can't access the internet due to wifi trouble you'll realize the point of a physical collection.

I'm not trying to pick on you but a physical collection that is cared for is timeless. Digital media has already had TONS of trouble with E-Readers. As soon as a publisher decides they don't want a certainl title to be streamed anymore they can pull it and whether you spent your money on it or not, whether its on your computer or not, it gets pulled and you don't have it anymore. That is bullshit and that alone (aside from other difficulties) is enough to make me keep a physical collection.
