Don't think I'll check this out untill it hits the $2 theater around here. I have 3 free movie passes left and I'm using them for Land of the Lost, The Hangover and Transformers 2.

Just saw it today, and I can say a couple things... It's not so much scary as it's just kinda gross. Lots of "fluids" and gross stuff. That's the only way I can describe it. I won't spoil anything for you, but throughout the entire thing I couldn't shake this overwhelming feeling of "Wow I've seen this before a million times before." .... even the addition of Raimi's visual touches (which you can't miss) can't save this extremely tired storyline that's been done to death a million times before. In that regard it doesn't really bring anything new to the table.

Like I said though, I'm a raimi fan so I enjoyed it. It's not a *bad* movie, it just doesn't really bring anything new to the whole genre of these spirit haunting films.

Saw it yesterday and really dug it. The script itself wasn't really a strong point and the dialogue needed a lot of polishing, but Raimi's direction, for the most part, was spot on. The over the top, tongue in cheek moments were the best and I would have liked to have seen more of that. Also I wished they used a little more practical effects and little less CGI. Overall I would go with a 7/10.

And for all of you complaining about not wanting to see a PG13 movie...I don't think an R would have done anything to raise the quality of the movie since it wouldn't have been essential to what they were going for. If you turn your back on an original horror film just because of its rating then have fun with more shitty fucking remakes and sequels. The fact that this movie did just ok at the box office is telling Hollywood that something new is no longer viable and that they should continue to rape our classics. Congratulations.

saw it on Sat and it scared the heck outta me! i think you really didnt see a lot of the scares coming and it was good that it was funny in parts also.

I really was looking forward to Raimi digging back into his horror roots, but this seemed like something that was directed by a Sam Raimi impersonator and it had that feel of trying to recapture the essence of the Evil Dead way too much! And the ending was waaaaayyy too predictable, the whole script felt very mainstream... while the Evil Dead series had that good old fashion campy indie effect :-)

, I was like ok..please let the ending be something else because this is way too obvious. And it wasn't..and I was very dissapointed.
