    I believe it was technicolor. Psycho could've been, but Hitchcok stuck with B&W for the atmosphere. Here are a few of others you should check out Boo

    Psycho was truly revolutionary for its time. It's like the transition from the old to the new. Pretty blatant psycho-sexual themes and violence. I like how the sum of money ended up totally irrelevant... classic Hitchcock 'macguffin'. And in terms of acting, Anthony Perkins just has that natural acting ability while everyone else speaks in that monotone 50s voice. Great performance.

    Psycho II & III
    are also worth checking out.

    The remake is an interesting experiment but the actors suck. Just goes to show you cannot copy a masterpiece.

    I'm going to check out Psycho IV sometime this week. Unfortunately the last Psycho movie with Anthony Perkins.
