Great Artwork, Horrible Movie!

here i would like to take time to talk about films seen with great cover art, but fell very short in the film aspect of it. almost to wish it was only a poster art compitition. my opinion of the worst letdown of a movie with great cover art would have to be Ghost Lake. This is the fucking worst movie I own, if i lived out of a house with more then one story, i would send it on its way to destruction. I think it sucked me in becuase without knowing what i s was about, i saw it for cheap and thought "hey, with a cover like this it's gota be sick....Right?" negative, along with a bunch of other films that hit shelves and are being pushed with stupid quotes and non-important awards won on the front. Another film that got me pissed off was the film broken. the quote on the front said "Makes Saw look like a kid's film" really? bullshit! it would have been decent but throwing that quote into the mix makes the fan wanting so much more from it. why can't people just put out their shit, and if it sucks; just make something better or get a new hobby.

As for disappointing, Moscow Zero with Val Kilmer (for a total of like two minutes)
Daywatch (I won't get started on that tyrade, had to watch the last hour or so in fast forward because it was so lame.)

Im a Descent fan as well, I thought the poster was gimmicky though so I would file that one under bad posters for awesome movies

There are so many.
I remember browsing through the selections of my local mom and pop video store when I was a young lad,admiring the cover art of so many bad movies,most of them being sci fi though.
One movie in particular I remember as having very misleading art work was 'Yor Hunter from the Future'........I still have nightmares.

I will throw in any film by Asylum as well, they understand the value awesome coverart can have on DVD sales and rentals, or moreover they understand the level of deceipt that can be achieved with clever mockups that look indistinguishable from hot blockbuster films
