Mad Max writer/director George Miller spoke to MTV about his newest endeavor for the franchise -- a 3D "Anime" feature film.
According to the article the storyline will go a different route than just following Gibson's character (especially since he won't have any part of this); most likely lifting story elements from the live-action Mad Max sequel, which was supposed to begin shooting several years ago before financing fell through.
The project is currently in the early stages of development, and apparently Miller is a fan of Japanese anime and wants to mimic the style, but also bring forth a western flavor to it.
I personally think Miller should avoid the "Anime" idea unless he actually gets Japanese animators to help storyboard and animate it. Otherwise, it'll just be a copycat like most of Americanized anime. :starefreak:
