This actually turned out being a really good movie. The cast of the villains in the original were better, and this one wasn't as brutal, but it is definitely worth a watch and is one of the better remakes to come out recently. The only thing I had a problem with was the fuckin microwave scene. There was no reason to put something like that in a very realistic movie. If you disregard the microwave part then i give it an 8/10.

Caught the flick earlier -- was aight. It's definitely better than the original, but I didn't like the original much to begin with. Otherwise, the kills weren't especially gory except for one, the rest of the flick was fairly mediocre. Should have a more detailed review later :thumbup3:

I thought it was good, of course there are some parts of the original that can overpower most of the new one. Especially with all the change ups in the "remake". I miss the chiansaw (especially when the original had a real chainsaw in it :bigthumbup:; and the chick really pissed her pants XP )

Loved it. Very tense, emotional, and well acted. The directing was smart too. Alot of little details ended up meaning something later. It was on par with the original, if not better. I really apprechiated the lack of slapstick cops and chicken women, as well as the somber taste of making little pieces more disturbing, rather than going for the gross out.

First half before the parents caught on 8/10. Very believable and seemed like a eerie true crime type deal, which I enjoyed.

Second half was ok. 7/10. Was rushed it seemed but I enjoyed how the parents weren't forced to take action against the criminals, they actually sought out their revenge. I wasn't expecting them to do that in this remake.

All in all I really liked it.
