Movies That Gave You Nightmares

Many horror movies that I have enjoyed have inadverdently given me nightmares over the years. The main contender has been "An American Werewolf in London". I don't find it scary; in fact, it's extremely enjoyable and one of the best horror movies out there. But it's given me such bizzare and disturbing bad dreams that they're hard to describe, but I know they were caused by AAWIL. A close second would be "Suspiria", which caused both sleepless nights and put some fucked images in my head. How 'bout anyone else?

The only movie that gave me nightmares were the Nightmare On Elm Street films when I was a little guy. My baby sister would always watch them when I was in the room and I couldn't get to sleep afterwards.

i still get nightmares, i dont call them nightmares..more like entertaining dreams
like the other nigt i had a dream Michale Myers was after me. And the only way i could stop him was if i got the high score in some old nintendo game. Once i got the score, i went to save it, and it wouldnt save

Salems lot gave me some pretty bad nightmares when I was about 9 or 10,I kept dreaming there was a vampire boy scratching at my bedroom window.
It was so bad my parents regulated what I watched for a while afterwards.

'The Day After' was also a little tramatizing for me.

the blob (88) gave me a nightmare the first time I saw it when I was 7. other then that, i had a nightmare after watching hellraiser for the 1st time but it's cool..i love the movie now more then ever :thumbup3:

Frankenstein (1931).....took me a long ass time not to run from someone wearing the mask
VooDoo Island......of course when I had the nightmares I was just a child with a case if the flu along with chicken pox,,,,,,,,,,,so I was delerious as hell

The only movie that ever gave me nightmares, oddly enough was Demon Knight. I didn't find the movie to be scary at the time, and I was 8 or so around the time. I've had plenty of dreams involving Jurassic Park-like scenarios... but while scary, I found them to be exciting.

The movies I'm surprised that didn't give me nightmares at the time though were Bram Stroker's Dracula, An American Werewolf In London, The Exorcist, and Cujo. I remember bawling during those films, no nightmares though.

I only wish I got nightmares, the only nightmares I get involve people from the past resurfacing or having to spend time with my family.

I did have daymares though, my dad always rented us the Jaws series and Piranha, and I was convinced Jaws was going to come out of the light in the deep end of the pool. Still pretty skeptical about it.

Trilogy of Terror (1975). I don't even know why I was so into watching this movie, but I remember sitting at a family party (the grownups were outside partying while the kids were supposed to be having a sleepover), and of course, an older cousin wanted to check it out, and so did I. So there we were, the youngun's (myself included, being 7 at the time) basically sh*tting ourselves during the Zuni Fetish Doll episode.

From that night forward, forget it.

My big brother found it highly amusing to push a steak knife under the bathroom door and make the doll noises whenever I was in there at night, the creep.

I remember seeing the puppet at Universal Studios once, shortly afterward, and I cried because I was positive it was gonna break out of the glass case and kill everyone. Still gives me a shiver, but a delicious one, although left alone in a room with the little bugger, I might get a little creeped out.

Child's Play; Pet Sematary(especially after reading the book); Tales from the Hood(shut up, those dolls did it in for me ok ); Tales from the Crypt(TV show in general..which I have all seasons of *acts proud*..hey he was talking to me from the TV, and the damn TV wouldn't shut off >_>) and that's about all I can rememeber.

Night of the Living Dead 68 and Halloween. Still have dreams about those to this day. Kind of fun though when I realize i'm dreaming and can control them.

When I first saw the movie It when I was little. It had given me nightmares.
