Evan Peters is ridiculously awesome!

I agree. I like most of the cast that returns from time to time, but Peters is one of the ones I always hope will return for each new season.


Killing Eve seasons 1-3
This show is really good. Flawed, but still very good. Great writing, and even kind of funny at times. Even the soundtrack slays. Easy recommendation.

Decided to give Iron Fist another go on Netflix. Until I started bingeing again yesterday, it's the only Netflix Marvel series I hadn't seen multiple times. It's definitely the weakest of the bunch, but while a lot of animosity was directed at Finn Jones, I don't think he's the problem. Miscast, maybe, but that doesn't stop him from doing his best with what he's given -- he's just not given an awful lot (as opposed to his drastic improvement in season 2 and The Defenders, where his character is better written and he had more time to prepare for the fight stuff). The biggest weakness is the writing, and the throbbing inadequacy of showrunner Scott Buck (who famously wrecked the last couple seasons of Dexter, and then went on from the failure of this show to tank another Marvel property, the atrocious The Inhumans).

But you can't really blame the cast. The whole production feels half-thought out, with uninspired fight scenes (not a good thing when your main character is supposed to be a superhumanly skilled martial artist) and more plot padding than you can shake an escrima stick at. That all falls on the shoulders of the producers and showrunner, as everything you see on the screen is only there because they approved of it.

Aside from Kim's Convenience, I haven't bothered much with Netflix since they cancelled Daredevil, so I wasn't aware of this show. Definitely looks interesting. Thanks for bringing it up.

No problem. Flanagan is at the top of his game IMO. Check out his first of 3 installments done for Netflix - The Haunting of Hill House. Solid throughout.

I've seen a number of Flanagan's films. Oculus, Gerald's Game, Hush. And The Haunting of Hill House, which I thought he knocked out of the park.
