EVE artwork drawn by HACK/SLASH creator Tim Seeley!

Eve writer/director Brian Metcalf and Hack/Slash creator Tim Seeley have spoken a few times back and forth about the whole Eve and Hack situation and Tim has apparently been nothing but cool about it, especially considering the whole thing was a coincidence and Brian in no way meant to copy Tim's hard work. In fact, Tim even offered to draw up some of his own concept art for Eve!

Here's what Brian had to say about it:

"This amazing picture of Eve was just sent to me this morning and is from Tim Seeley, the creator of Hack/Slash, and the coolest guy in comics. He offered to do some art for us and how could I say no to the extraordinary talent who was the original maestro of the whole girl turns the tables on psychos genre. Not only has he been cool about the whole situation with Eve, he has also done up this kick-ass drawing of the character and sent it to me. There is nobody more qualified to draw a chick that goes around killing serial killers than Tim of course."

    WOW... They're becoming great friends
maybe even a little too great lol
Im praying they just collaborate :budsdrink:
I personally think Brian Metcalf is slighty too humble to Seeley.
Possibly Metcalf really did mimic Seeley's work and is avoiding a lawsuit...?
    just a thought

This is awesome. I highly doubt Brian did this because of fearing a lawsuit. The two genuinely seem to get along. And as we've seen over and over again is that the concept is not that original. Brian just seems like a nice guy and so does Tim.

Brian and Tim are nice guys who love the genre. Brian obviously didn't know Hack/Slash had existed prior to his announcement about Eve. If he had feared a lawsuit from the start, he obviously wouldn't have even bothered to make Eve.

This is really cool what Tim did, my hat's off to him. It is so ggod to hear the two get along. And why not, they both have similar interests. Perhaps they should do a totally different comic/movie together. Brian does not seem to be avoiding a lawsuit. He seems to care what people think and is trying put things right with the people.

Tim really is amazingly talented. He should do the comic book adaptation of the film. Brian seems like a really cool and humble guy, he does not seem like the type to run around ripping people off.

I've spoken to Brian on numerous occasions and he is indeed a very nice, humble individual. He's a filmmaker that actually cares what we think and we need more people like that in the industry. :thumbup3:

I agree Frightmaster. Someone else brought up a valid point in another forum. Why would Brian release a press release announcing the film. Get all kinds of negative comparisons immediately and the next day, release a synopsis that was similar. That makes no sense. Logic tells us he had no clue or he'd change the synopsis and then post it.

This is awesome I think both of them are very talented. Why not just work together and make a great film. Ive posted on other forums that EVE would benefit tremendously from those 2 talents working together.

That illustration is awesome. Tim has skillz no doubt. It looks like everyone is over the controversy so I'm really excited to see what the 2 of them create.

One last reason EVE should move forward...

    She is an awesome actress.

I was just throwing out a thought and a pessimistic one at that
Wow Metcalf seems like such a genuine guy
It really sucks his vision is being scrapped... for now
I hope something amazing comes from this situation

Well from the drawing that Tim released that was his version of an "EVE" poster I think something great did come out of it.

All we can hope for now is that the two of them are working together to release an even stronger storyline for EVE that would make Hack/Slash proud.

Tim is an amazing artist I think that drawing is awesome :budsdrink:
