    Psycho II (Yes, Part II)

I just watched Psycho II on the TV last night and I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. Most people have this impression that Psycho II was a turd since no one really talks about it. The plot is pretty much Norman Bates gets out of the nuthouse after 22 years and seems like he wants to lead a normal life. Of course its not gonna happen that way. The mystery is basically either Norman has really gone crazy again or is someone trying to make him go insane again...
I had heard bad reviews but i gotta say it was well paced and well written. The other actors surrounding Anthony Perkins did a fine job, especially Robert Loggia and Meg Tilly. The writer was Tom Holland who as we all know brought us Chucky the killer doll to the big screen. Im telling y'all, Psycho II is worth your time. I'm not sure about Psycho III yet but I will let y'all know after I watch it. I do know Jeff Fahey from The Lawnmower Man and Lost is in it plus Anthony Perkins directed Psycho III so I hope its also worth my time.

I thought it was an alright movie. Haven't seen it in a long time though, so I can't really give my full thoughts.

Good sequel, in my opinion. Much better than the horrible following films

II is hand down the best of the sequels but I think the entire series following the original is underrated. III is the weakest by far but Perkins took the director's chair in that one so I appreciate it as a more personal film of his. IV I have always enjoyed as well, and I thought the prequel fit the series well.

Why don't they lock this dude up once and for all? He's a menace.

I liked the first one, might have to check the rest out.

Psycho II was good from what I remember. As for the other sequels, I haven't seen Psycho III in a really long time so I don't really remember it much at all and I don't even think I ever watched Psycho IV.

I remember I liked part IV. I like the idea of Norman talking to a radio station and telling them the story of his life. Plus the radio DJ was CCH Pounder, she's a great actress (The Shield) and I think was a good complement to Anthony Perkins. I really wish I still had my old VHS copies...

So although you like the sequels do you think they compare to the original in your opinion? I thought II should have been more widely accepted.

probably one of the best sequels ever made.
it's fun to watch normal go from sane to crazy since we know him as a nut.

Pretty solid flick. Made a lot of money too when it came out. No surprise considering that a lot of good people put it together.

    Dir. - Tom Holland
    D.P. - Dean Cundey
    Composer - Jerry Goldsmith

Perkins hadn't started getting sick at this point and was able to turn in a good performance. Didn't realize until just now that his wife/widow was on one of the planes that hit the WTC.

Good to know that these sequels are worth the watch. I love the original, but never bothered to see any of the sequels - though I did catch one death of part III on television. I'll have to add them to my netflix queue.
