Eh, okay flick. I didn't give a shit about the main character. I actually wanted him to just die. I would have liked less CGI aliens but what are you gonna do? Slow in the beginning but I liked the actiony second half.

I thought the movie was amazing, it was smart and delivered non stop action. CGI is the standard now and these aliens were full of characterization and life. Supposedly this film only cost 30 million, that's less than the advertising budget on Transformers 2.

amazing movie. really felt connected to the characters, especially the main alien. glad they portrayed the aliens in a civil manner rather than monstrous and ugly, made is easier to feel for them. the action was great and was the music. and speaking of the cgi, it was almost flawless in some parts, for only a 30 million dollar budget it was good. o

ne thing i didnt get though, maybe i missed what it was made of, but how did the fuel turn the guy into an alien? was it made of alien dna!

Pretty sure the alien dropped some blood or something in the fuel, which caused it to flare up before it was placed in the canister, but I could be mistaken. I just remember a lot of red stuff spiking up after something was dropped on it. Either way, there was definitely alien DNA in there.

The fuel and transformation is probably something that will be explored in a sequel. The ending was very open. I'd imagine MNU wants to know what changed Wickus and how they can control it.

The only way the aliens could use any of their technology required their own DNA to be fused with it. The ships could only be activated by their DNA, like their weapons. It completely explains it.

In thinks of a sequel, I don't think it's neccessary. Needless to say it expands our imagination, what more is there to say about Wik's character? He's become a Prawn and he's learned to accept the loss of his humanity, yet his heart and art still live on, it's much beautiful how it's left.

Remember, becareful what you wish for, unless the creator and the same team would do it again, sequels usually come out to becoming piles of shit...

For one, Christopher said he'd free/help his people, so he'd still need to return to Earth. Another is that he said he'd help that dude in 3 years, so who knows, maybe he can return that guy back into a human, or maybe not.

Either way, I can see a sequel happening with Chris returning to help his people, and the government getting more involved, maybe we'll see other countries getting more involved as well. All out war or something if Chris brings back mofoz to help him.

I just got back from seeing it. Pretty good flick. A lot different than I expected but thats a good thing. I like how this movie had a satisfactory ending, yet it left it open for a sequal. There was a lot of CG used but it was very good CG. And the fact they actually uses practical special effects for some of the shots of the aliens was a big help. Hopefully this director gets a lot of work in the future. I couldn't believe this was only a $30 million movie. It looked like the budget was a lot bigger.
