I liked it, Rob Zombie is a very talented guy. I think The Devil's Rejects was his best so far though.

Now don't get me wrong, I love RZ. It is just this movie was terrible. Devil's rejects, and House of a thousand corps.

In his music he stole from Black Sabbath. Their sound and even the idea of naming his band after a horror movie.

In his movies he steals from Carpenter, Romero, and every one else who made their mark in horror in the 70's.

No coincidence his name is ROB.

There is absolutely nothing original in any way shape or form when it comes to Rob Zombie.

I've seen him in interviews and I like the guy but I can't take him seriously. What's he going to do next...remake Halloween III and give us a heavy metal version of the song "Silver Shamrock?"

Common now. Are you all the new breed of horror movie junkies who just love anything that has a high profile killer that everybody knows in it? And have no room to accept the fact that these movies are getting remade whether you like it or not? Yes i'l admit that the original halloween was better but what RZ did with it was not actually change anything. He just added to story of MM's past which helps you understand where he's coming from more. Not just randomly throw him into a city and violenty kill everybody. He made MM seem like he still had feelings.. That he was still human. I said it once and il say it again.. the original was much better but the fact that he took it and gave it a real story is what made it good and also helped introduce alot of younger people to the older movies.

Well okay the whole point of a remake is to bring something new to the table, to do something and fresh. I have my problems with the remake, the prequel part of the film was alright. The second half the remake half, was a bit rush, the pacing was off. I mean yes he did somethings different, but they didnt pan out right. Like some scenes in the workprint he took out he should've leave them in, it like he didnt know how to edit his on film.

Like Bob's death i had a problem with Bob's death, in the workprint Mike kills him in the van. In the T-Cut and D-Cut Rob pays homage to JC by killing Bob like in the JC's Halloween, I just perfer Bob' death in the van cause Mike came out of nowhere. And there's a other scene Rob cut where Mike is chasing Luarie down the street, you can see Mike and when she gets to the house at the door you can still see him getting closer and closer and closer. I thought that was a very tense moment. Hell Rob cut the scene down.

Now the new stuff he brought to the table was actually Annie surviving, The strode being killed and i like how he had paul hanging from a rope with a pumpkin on his head the was Classic. But that doesnt make it a good remake, but i will say its better than the last four Halloween sequel's in the old series.

So now i'm really looking forward to H2, because it has the potential to be good. Rob doesn't has to deal with the whole remake aspect of it like he had to deal with on the first film. He can go in any direction he wants, its not going to be a remake of the original Halloween II. But Halloween O7 wasn't a good remake, it was a decent film and a hell of alot better than the last four sequel's in the old franchise.

    That just my opinion.

Uusually I take any opportunity to slam Zombie's Halloween, but I'll stay mostly quiet here since its late and I'm tired. I hate RZ's Halloween. I'm not even a big fan of his music anymore. I do not look forward to H2, and would prefer if all remaining copies of Halloween 2007 were destroyed.

I really don't understand that statement, Black Sabbath didn't mix techno tracks in their music. Furthermore you could go as far to say that every heavy metal band in existence today has stolen from them because lets face it, they created that genera

The original Halloween was about as close to a perfectly sylized horror film as there has ever been. For me, I have to watch RZ's interpretation as a completely different film and distance it from the original or I just wanna puke.

First off, I think part of what makes Michael scary is that we dont know why he is evil, and I dont think that needs to be explained. Another part of him that made him even more frightening, in my opinion, was that he was of average size and not 7 feet tall like in RZ's. The fact that the guy was dead inside and possesed by something that lacked explanation, allowed for him to have more of a human feel while at the same time being something completely different. Also, does there need to be an explanation of him developing this so called love for masks? I dont think so because hes a killer who escaped from a mental hospital and he needs a mask to conceal his identity, so why go about spending so much time in the remake trying to explain it?

Plus, JC's music in the original was one of a kind, and that just cant be duplicated.

I just like films that try and leave more things open to interpretation so we can create our own demons, and I felt that the remake just kind of took that away.

That being said, I enjoy parts of the remake when I watch it for what it is, as a straight up slasher.

RZ has had his nose up Ozzy's ass for years, there's no doubt about that. The first couple of years of OzzFest, any interview or footage there was RZ behind Ozzy, like a shadow. He's admitted to following in the footsteps of Black Sabbath from naming the band after a horror movie to the hard detuned sound Sabbath is notorious for.

My point in bringing this up is that RZ has proven to be consistant when it comes to "borrowing" other people's ideas, whether it be in the music industry or in the motion picture industry. Maybe I'm strange...I like originality. I just can't stand blatant robbery of someone else's ideas.

I really don't think his music sounds like a rip off of Black Sabbath, his has its own feel and his own spin on things

Admittedly his House of a thousand corpses was a huge rip off of TTCSM and wasn't a very good movie, it was a learning experience for him, i think the Devils Rejects was a very well made movie with lots of insight to the characters and a very good soundtrack.

I liked H7 because it took the back story of Micheal and focused on that at the beginning. I also liked the way the soundtrack was used in this movie as well. i think his involvement in the music industry helps alot in that aspect of it.

All in all you aren't gonna find alot originality in hollywood anymore because the people paying for these movies don't want a flop on their hands so they keep beating the same dead horse over and over again and people keeping going in droves to watch it. The 70s and 80s horror movies are pretty much a dead thing now, people are afraid to take chances with new things and new ideas and they won't usually use big bucks to back a project that isn't the tried and true formula
