Dreamworks has picked up the remake rights to the classic 1985 Tom Holland film Fright Night. Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are producing along with Michael De Luca.
There's currently no writer on board yet, but the studio plans to keep the comedy-horror tone, while modernizing the effects. The original told the story of a teenage genre fan, who suspects his neighbor is a vampire. He enlists the help of his friends and a television host/vampire slayer to discover the truth and put a stop to the bloodsucker.
