Time to remake FRIGHT NIGHT!!

The 80's are ripe full of cash cow movies you can recycle.

All you have to do is update it with a fresh, crop of faces and modernize it a bit and you have an above average chance of a hit on your hands. Its smart business really.

The only thing I have trouble deciphering is if this just came about with the last decade and change or has it been a constant throughout history, the 80's included?

I lean towards it not being the truth because a great many faces from the past got their start in horror whereas some of these faces today have had roles, tv shows, etc.

Maybe im wrong though.

If this is all it takes to become a movie writer, sign me up because I'd love to take a script, copy it completely (adding a few "re-imaginings"...which is short for taking and turning into crap), and make billions of dollars off of it.

And while we are at it, let me butcher Asian horror films by making them "more American". Because that's all us Americans apparently know how to do anymore. Why do we even give college degrees for this sort of shit anymore?

In response to those not wanting a PG-13 rating, honestly if you look at the original seems to me that the content is pretty tame by todays standards. I love the original, especially "lips" that fright master's got a pic of, but it was essentially Rear Window with a vampire in it so Fright Night itself was already a remake with a "twist". There wasn't much gore in it so I think the nudity was the reason it garnered a "R" rating at that time. I hope it is as good as I remember the original, R or PG-13. BTW...do you think Roddy McDowell helped Stephen Geoffries career in gay porn??

Man this is so fucking cool! I've been waiting on this remake for the longest time. This movie holds sentimental value for the simple fact we have the same birthday. This movie is a classic & part 2 is so rare it's next to impossible to get your hands on unless you're willing shelve out a hundred bucks for it. I know its not gonna happen but I could really see a shorter version of Charlie Brewster being played by Shia Labouf. I think he's the perfect guy to play the character plus I think he would attract a few more fans. But I have no idea who could replace the great Chris Sarandon as Jerry Dandrige. Can't wait to hear more on this flick.

Now I know someone will get pissed over this but I liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead I just wished that they renamed it or something. This might be good. I give everything a day in court unless I take one look at it and want to burn my TV for having seen the preview...

But if they keep the original story line going and not turn it into some crappy piece of shit like they did Prom Night; which they should be shoot for I can deal.

All honestly It depends on the mall but it is one of the most sound places to go. But I would rather go to a prison or something like that. Because in case of a evacuation or some shit like that prisons have to be abandoned and the prisoners taken out till the area is clear to live in again... Why? because they are "people" too... Well some are some are just scum...
