Drive is a lesser-known action/comedy that, despite its low budget, produced some pretty sweet action and entertainment value. I was just thinking about the flick recently and how cool it was and saddened by the fact that it has never really gotten the respect that it deserves, at least from distributors. Like the fact that you'll never find a copy on DVD anymore without spending more than $45 bucks from collectors.
The movie stars Mark Dacascos, Kadeem Hardison, and a young up-and-coming Brittany Murphy, and many who've seen the movie may notice some similarities to the more popular Rush Hour, which came out a year after this flick. Not only does it team an ass-kickin' Asian dude with a reluctant wise-crackin' black dude, but the two even have a little neck-dance-thing goin' on in the car during one scene.
As far as comedy goes, Rush Hour gets my vote, but when it comes to the action, definitely Drive. Cheesy, entertaining, funny, and action-packed. Check this one out :thumbup3:
If I were to rewatch it I'd probably give it a 7/10
