Wow...I think this is David Cronenberg's darkest movie of his career. Samantha Eggar delivered a top notch performance as the mother who spawns these deformed kids from the "rage" she has pent up inside. The people her character is mad at...get killed off by these creepy looking little monsters.A great late 70's masterpiece movie and an awesome entry into the horror genre. The handsome Oliver Reed and suave Art Hindle also star. Reed delivers a fine performance..while Hindle is a little wooden and campy.

Why didn't u like it? I mean..the movie is so original. Something we didn't see before. I thought it was a great new and original entry into the horror genre.

Interesting concept. But the pace of the film was very slow and it was predictable. One of the few films I fell asleep during and had to rewatch to get the full effect. Film didnt do the original concept justice.

The state of limitations for spoilers on this movie ended before you or I were born.
That said, I finally got to see all of it in the same Cronenberg film class as Shivers.
It's a bit too uneven compared to a lot of his films, didn't really sympathize with the father or the mother. Interesting ideas, but not the best end result.

I've come to find that Cronenberg films are an acquired taste. I generally like his films and enjoyed this, although I prefer They Came From Within and Rabid. It's worth at least one viewing, especially for Cronenberg completists.
