It was weak. I like Scanners and The Fly better. Videodrome was so-so.

I still haven't bothered with this since I find Cronenberg's constant overuse of sexuality in films to be mediocre.

And I find that's part of my intrigue with his films...except for Crash. That was a little too disturbing for my liking.
Which of his films are you referring to?

The state of limitations for spoilers on this movie ended before you or I were born.
That said, I finally got to see all of it in the same Cronenberg film class as Shivers.
It's a bit too uneven compared to a lot of his films, didn't really sympathize with the father or the mother. Interesting ideas, but not the best end result.

Shivers was better but not by much. Truth is Cronenberg is hit or miss, not a big fan of Rabid either. The Brood stinks on ice, I would rather lick the acid off my car car battery than watch that dreck.

Acid licking,huh? No wonder u barely have any taste for good classic movies. U seem to always miss the points of a movie. U remind me of someone else on here.

Almost all of them, The Fly, Shivers, Rabid, etc...

Those are my favourites...although I haven't seen They Came From Within in a long time. I always liked his movies, very in your face and with subject matter that is often controversial, often including sexuality, but his approach of these issues was always really interesting to me. A lot of his films have a surreal quality to them that I like as well.

That is true... I just wasn't as enthused about his stuff as most were. I did enjoy Scanners and Videodrome a great deal though

Scanners was pretty good. Videodrome had Blondie in it right? I remember that being a wild movie. I guess when compared to his other films I can see why The Brood might be viewed as boring at times.

Sexuality is the theme he plays with most often, medicine aside.
So yeah its understandable one may not enjoy his films if you don't like his constant obsession with that. At the Suicide of the Last Jew in the World in the Last Cinema in the World is probably the only film he's ever made that doesn't dwell on either.

A little off topic but I like his use of insects like The Fly, Existenz, and Naked Lunch. The stuff he's done with Viggo Mortenson is also strong.
