Monster Squad is family oriented comedy nothing in it is horror. Watered down humorous incarnation of classic monsters are not horror. Shaun of the Dead is an awesome comedy flick, i like it alot but it is a gross out comedy.

Shaun of the dead is as much of a horror movie as se7en on your list. One is about a serial killer, and one is a comedy take on zombies. TMS is as you said a water down comedy, but it is in its roots a horror movie. Its about the classic monsters coming to life, and kids fighting against them. But hey, its your opinion, just don't agree.

TMS is not a horror movie, you might as well say Scary Movie is a horror movie and Seven is much more horror than Shaun of the Dead but i'm cool with your opinion. You think anything with the standard archetype is a horror film, you are entitled your own opinions.
TMS a horror film :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I could see how you mean light hearted about TMS, but in Shaun of the dead, you have blood, death etc etc.

Someone should start a separate thread discussing this point.
"Comedy Horror...still a horror movie?" Something like that.

I saw it as an adult. That also could be the reason. But I don't know, I thought I would like it, but ended up fast forwarding the ending since I couldn't watch it anymore.
Also don't worry, there are movies on your list that I do like haha . Just gotta try to check out a couple of Wooden's that I haven't seen first before I vote.

That's because you're stupid.
I would consider both of the films we're bitching about within the horror realm, as well as Seven. Who said horror films have to be adult flicks anyway? Who said they need blood or gore or tits? No one. Children are capable of getting frightened of a film with monsters in it as much as an adult. I remember being creeped out by TMS when I was young, so horror it is IMO.

Depends on which movies you're talking about. Something Wicked This Way Comes, or The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, I would consider children's horror. Obviously I didn't mean children's movies like Aladdin or Cinderella. If movies like that scared you, you're just a sissy .
I was talking about a children's horror equivelent, not any/every movie with a villain.
