This turned out to be a good light-hearted underdog film about a young 14-year-old boy, who believes he's destined for greatness, despite his misgivings and seemingly deviant behavior at a local Catholic school. He comes to realize that by producing a miracle, it will somehow bring his mother back from a coma, so he gets the idea that winning the Boston Marathon would be that miracle.
I liked the flick, it was funny, interesting, and you really get to know the lead boy. The film has some dramatic elements, but it's primarily just a feel-good comedy, which is good, because I'm not really into the sappy over-dramatic movies that themes like these can produce. Worth a check if you're looking for a simple light-hearted underdog story.
