I am and I am not for this.

I am for it because I think we need something a little refreshing, since we do have a lot of crap coming out nowadays. I think it would be a good time to mock and spoof films of this day and age.

Now I am not for this because I think it would bring a lot if wannabe's into the mix.

Back in the 90's the Weinsteins made some fun films, with, IMO, Dimensions films being the head of horror between the mid and late 90's.

Which bring me to this question, WITF are they thinking with this lame ass shit that they are coming out with today?

This is more or less a reboot without saying its a reboot as far as im concerned IMO.

Unless they come up with a plausible reason to leave Neve out or Neve just not coming back but writing up a plausible reason to keep her character out of a 'sequel' trilogy. Then leave it alone.

Being one of the few fans of the Scream franchise on the board. Its either give the fans the original 3 or let it go IMO. The premise was always about getting to Sidney.

Billy because his mom left him after the cheating scandal. Mrs. Loomis because she believes her family was destroyed and then the 'lost' brother more or less because of jealousy.

Without Sidney, you're reduced to a squabbling, aged Gale Weathers and an unintentionally funny Dewey.

Let this franchise be.

Well the premise wasn't ALWAYS about getting to Sidney. Not really. She was the heroine in the first one because she was a survivor. Billy and Stu were just psycho and wanted to kill, plain and simple. Billy's mom, ya that was revenge and was mainly driven toward Sidney. Mickey because he just wanted to kill. And Roman, because of the whole lame 'Lost' brother thing, and being jealous (which I always thought was pretty thin.)
So saying that the series could only revolve around Sidney is kind of narrow minded. What if the Halloween series had halted because of no more Jamie Lee? (I'm sure some of you haters out there will argue that would have been a good thing. Never mind Halloween 3) Or Nightmare on Elm Street after Nancy?
If they come up with a good idea to keep this franchise fresh, and I think that Wes can pull that off, then I say why not give it a chance. I mean what do we have to lose? Instead of the Scream Trilogy, it would be like a Hexology if they go with another Trilogy of 3 more. Or I guess we could just call it the Scream Anthology. Or series. Whatever.
The point is, just keep an open mind people.

Seriously though they see $$$$. And remember there are a lot of kids that have not seen Scream or don't remember it (Yeah I know it only came out around 96' but kids grow so damn fast). Kids becoming teenagers. You know the same kids that were terrified by the Prom Night remake. Funny I know. They'll slap it with a PG and to get all the kiddies and keep it moving.

Sure it is a bad idea, but it is a fast cash idea. Sad but true. Doesn't bother me when they remake, re-image, reboot (whatever they want to call it) an OK movie, but if it ain't broke then don't try to fix it.

My only fear is most of the time the DIRECTOR makes the movie not the script. Without Craven's command of the camera they may be unable to capture the same suspense under another director unless he studies the first film really well.
