I've been working on a script for about a year now.
It's about a strain of rabies that's mutated naturally in the wild.
It starts out with a boy hunting with his dog in the woods, where they come across a wild animal (haven't decided on which animal exactly yet) and the dog becomes infected. The dog then goes on to infect his owner.
I've researched rabies a bit, and realize that it doesn't affect humans the way it does animals. But that's one thing that intrigued me. What if it did?
Then I see the movies [Rec] and Quarantine. I understand there is a similarity but since I did think of this before I saw those movies I'm not going to let it deter me.
So the infected in this movie are like a zombie type. I know the zombie genre has been gone over so many times, but this is one of my favorite horror genres.
The rabies symptoms affecting humans would be such a vicious reaction, from the feverish red skin, foaming mouth, and rage attitude.
I'm from a very small town in north Idaho and it would be perfect for filming.
I'm currently looking at a Krasnogorsk 3 16mm camera to use for shooting. It has that awesome grainy look perfect for horror.
But I do still have some work to do on the script, this is just something that has been picking at me for quite some time now. I'll keep yall updated on the endevour!
