Changed out the initial cleaning fluid and replaced it with a biocide/corrosion inhibitor mix w/ distilled water. I also re-routed the flow path to put the radiator BEFORE the CPU.

I thought I'd comment on his hardware choices:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X Processor - Holy shitballs!!! That's a lot of processor. This would be a waste of money if it was a gaming rig, but since he does a ton of 4K editing and processing this actually makes sense
MSI Creator TRX40 Motherboard - another extreme choice but man is that sexy! Lots of modern features and you can fit so much ram!
Corsair Vengeance LPX 128GB (4 x 32GB) DDR4-3600 RAM - That's a lot of RAM, not sure even in video editing if you need that much but I guess with the extreme area he's heading, might as well
EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FTW3 - surprisingly some restraint (although minor restraint) as this isn't the craziest card out right now, it's still awesome and would slaughter any modern game title if he wanted to play
2TB+1TB+1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 - This is a no brainer. If you have the M.2 slots and need a lot of storage for work on those massive 4K video files its almost a necessity now
4TB Samsung 860 QVO SSD - I mean...yeah he had it laying around...might as well throw it in for backup
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro TR4 CPU Cooler This is a great air cooler and gets great performance though not as sexy as liquid but way less hassle
LG Blu-Ray Burner WH16NS40 - I didn't see him mention this, and surprised he put it in. Even myself a self proclaimed physical media whore, left an internal bluray drive out of my build (I do have a USBC one if I need to watch a blu on it though.)
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit - duh
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W PSU - I love he's reusing his power supply
Fractal Design Define XL R2 Case - A classic case but in a more modern sense the drive bay area is a little outdated
Asus ROG PG348Q 34" Monitor - This is a sick monitor, This was my first choice for an ultra-wide but ended up with the Alienware 1900R due to its higher refresh rate and cheaper price

Decided to upgrade my comp recently.

Went from 500gigs m.2 to 1tb m.2 (Samsung 970 Evo Plus)
Went from 16gigs ram to 32gigs, which is my max (Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro)
Went from my CPU stock fan to a liquid cooler (CORSAIR Hydro Series, H100i RGB PLATINUM)
And lastly went from a 1660 ti to an RTX 2070 SUPER XC ULTRA GAMING graphics card



Pretty happy with everything. Comp loads a lot faster, especially with games and I can alt+tab while in games a lot easier and with no lag or hassle (I often multi-task when gaming, working, or watching movies). Wish my cable management was a bit better, but I could only do so much with a mini motherboard (which I kinda regret getting, will be getting a regular one next build). Either way, it's nice to have games on the highest settings again, been years since I was last able to do that

Nice upgrades Fright! If you're thinking of doing some cable management, I suggest going to Cablemod. You can select your power supply and choose what color patterns and lengths you want. It makes the process much easier and the results sexier.

Some benchmarks and impressions of the next gen nvidia 3080 compared to the current 2080 and 2080ti...crazy improvements with a decreased cost. I own a 2080 ti and have NEVER upgraded one gen after...these cards got me thinking

I upgraded to a rtx 2070 super recently, so I'm just gonna stick with it for at least a couple years before I decide to upgrade again
