Novels to Movies, what Books would make a Great Horror Movie???

Hey all,

As per title, what Novels do you think would make a great Horror Movie??


A couple of mine would be

Twlight Eyes By Dean Koontz, its a old book but one of my Fav's has the potential to be a awesome movie with the right Director and Budget, unlike some of the other Movies created from Dean's books like "The Watchers" Excellent book IMO but the Movie was crap. Soul Survivor's, OK book, terrible Movie,

2nd would Be Endless Night by Richard Laymon, Has the Potential to be a absolute Gore Fest, as would most of Richards Book's, He definately had a knack for cutting out the boring Bits and going straight for the Violence and Sex but still keeping the Story interesting.

I think the first book in the "Doom" series based on the game should be made into a movie...that book rocks

If they can get it right some of William Gibson's books would look great on screen. So far only two short stories have been made and pretty sure Neuromancer has been in development hell since the book was published.

Edit: i just now noticed this was in the horror section. though my answer isn't horror at all... shrugs.

Brian Lumley's Necroscope would make a fantastic movie in the right hands and with the right budget. The rights were optioned a few years back but nothing came of it.

World War Z..I know it has been rumored..havn't heard much else with it though. The book bored me to death, only got through half of it. That's why I want to see a film adaptation of it.

The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick would make a great movie.

But like all other movies that they've made of his work, they would find a way to f**k it up.

I like Laymon's stuff so I would also like to see 'Bite' and 'Resurrection Dreams' made into movies.

There was a series of books about GIANT killer crabs that I read as a kid. If I remember correctly, the author was Guy N. Smith? Yeah, pretty generic name...so I could be way off.

Anyway, one of the books was called "Crab's Moon"...but I forget the rest of the titles. They were filled with over the top gore and sex.

I envision it being like the classic Humanoids From The Deep (but with crabs of course!) if it was ever turned into a movie.

Lost Souls - Poppy Z. Brite

Unfortunately, the only way it would make it onto the screen is if they destroyed it and she won't allow it.

St. Peters Wolf (phenomenal werewolf book) would be a great film if done right. The film 'Wolf' was actually really close to it, but sucked hard imo. Weather they admit it or not they ripped that book off, or 'borrowed' heavily from it.

I enjoyed the first and second books in the series but i didnt enjoy the lastest 2.

His Revamp on the Frankenstein Story would make a good movie/movies if done right
