Never saw the original, but I did catch this one in the theaters. Good movie. Expected a bit more action towards the end, but it still offered some excellent performances from Denzel and John Travolta and kept me interested from the start.

It's actually pretty good, but depending on how you feel about remakes makes a difference. They did away with the comic side of the story that the original had, and made it more of a straight up action/ thriller. Remake is a bit more violent than the original was.

The original did have an odd sense of humor. I loved the drunk women that slept through the entire hostage situation.

Movie was pretty good, it had some solid performances from both the lead role's 7/10.

I thought Travolta over-acted and was laughable at times as the villian...who IMO was way over the top.

The scene where "Ryder" gets into Danzel's mind and gets him to admit to a crime was a bit much.

Danzel was the bright spot.

Wanted to know more about the other bad guys...never happens. You get this over the radio battle between Travolta and Washington that takes up way too much of the movie. Gave me a headache. Original was way better.

I've never cared for Travolta as an actor. Every villan he's played has been over acted. My main complaint on the original was the character development. You never got to know the other villans of the story. Since that was the case I didn't expect anything different in that aspect of the film. Also the original centered around a radio communication between Matthau and Shaw so there wasn't a whole lot of change there either

I enjoyed this film. I like the original as well. I thought the dialogue in this new one was amazingly good.

Saw this while I was on vacation and I also enjoyed it as well. Definitely needed some more action, but what was presented wasn't bad either.

7/10
