what ever happened to the original slasher story and plots we enjoyed in the mid 90's

I enjoyed the scream series. It had a lot of good twists. It was pretty much the only 90's mainstream slasher I enjoyed though

I got sick of looking at the covers of every "horror" movie that came out in the 90's and seeing the teenagers lined up in rows.

Midnight Meat Train sucked.

1st Scream was cool all the rest were forgettable.

IKWYDLS and Urban Legend sucked.

Problem with 90's Slashers is that it focused way more on the teenagers personal lives and less on the Killer. Most of them are like watching an episode of Dawson's Creek with a few tame death scenes sprinkled in to keep things interesting. Over-all a terrible decade for that particular sub-genre of horror.
