I rather enjoyed this movie. One part that always creeped me out was Sam Neill's face when it's all slashed up. Creepy when he says "you're with us" to fishburne.

this is one of my favorite movies, and actually one of the first i ever bought on dvd. i think it took me 3 hours to watch it the first time on dvd because i kept freeze framing those little "flashback" moments because i just had to see exactly what happened. and yes, i am the proud owner of the "special collector's edition" as well

great film. the "black hole hell" talk\scenes was scary and awsome. Loved it!

Yeah the black hole = doorway to hell was a cool theory. In Hellraiser 2, hell itself was thought to be the 4th dimension, as eluded to by Dr.Cihnard's texts. But instead of a black hole the box was the gateway.

I like in the beginning where they say everything is in a deep freeze, but a water bottle floats across the screen with water in it lmao

I love EH. Great sci-fi horror film. My until recent gf thought it was cheesy, and sometimes it is. But its still good to me.

It does have it's cheesy moments but most films suffer from that.

I caught this flick on HBO again last night and had forgotten just how good it is. The cast is pretty good with Sam Neil and Laurence Fishbourne headlining. In the gore department things are solid aswell, i know things were supposedly cut out for the R rating but there is still enough imo. Neil plays his role excellently and the special fx really helped late stage Weir become even more entertaining. This is certainly one of the better 90's flicks and hands down Paul Anderson's best effort.

Not many people mention this film, even in the new (and absurd) 90's thread it gets little to no mention. That makes me wonder if people really didn't like it or just forget about it. To me this is an under-rated horror flick that scored high in the acting, atmosphere, and style departments, and probably deserves a little more word of mouth than it gets.

It's not that EVENT HORIZON is underrated, or that people have forgotten about it...

It's that the movie sucks. For all of it's good effort, it just sucks. Some nifty fx and production design, but a generally lame film.
