more King Kong

looks like kong is back. This time its a CG movie based on what life was like on kong island before those pesky american showed up and fucked it up. I think this hsould be interesting. maybe I should read the book.

I thought Jacksons Kong was fine for what it was. I prefer it slightly over the 76 version but not the 33 version.

Not sure what all the hate is for Kong, he's no more ridiculous than Godzilla. Pitting them against each other was a mistake as it is because of all the fan boys on either side and the fact that they are nowhere near comparable.

Both belong in their own Universes, not one in the same. Not one single versus idea in terms of big, big icons has worked IMO.

AvP was terrible
AvPR was better than AvP but still horrid
Freddy vs Jason was by the numbers outside of the final battle

Kong is a giant gorilla. He is lame. Godzilla is a giant atomic dinosaur that protects and destroys Tokyo because he thinks it's his pissing ground. He is cool (except when they have him do shit like using his breath as a jet propolsion means so that he can fly).
AVP did suck, but had its moments.
AVPR rocked.
Freddy vs Jason Rocked purely for the fun of seeing them go at it.
However i didn;t intend on my mentioning of Godzilla vs Kong to open a Vs discussion. It was only a means to mention my distaste of the big fuzzy monkey.

I love the kong movies 76 version is my favorite,I would like to see it remade with updated effects-I prefer the taller bipedal kong and IMO the alter scene when Kong is walking to the alter and you hear the trees breaking in the distance as the natives are beating on the drums,then the drums stop Dwan looks up,lets out a scream and Kong roars and beats on his chest is one of the greatest scenes in cinematic history!

Jacksons Kong could have been epic,but instead he decided to make it too cartoonish-I still like it though.

Son of Kong needs a remake.
