Bryan Singer directs Battlestar Galactica

X-Men and Superman Returns director Bryan Singer is set to direct the new Battlestar Galatica movie, which is said to be a complete reimagining and standalone film, not relating to the hit SciFi series that just completed its television run.

I really loved the series, so it sucks that they're completely remaking it for a theatrical movie, because you really get into the actors and characters from the show. On the other hand there have been some good new adaptations based on older properties, so you never know how it'll turn out until you see it.

He's never been good in my opinion. He' s been decent at times, but he's usually underwhelming.

I don't think I could get into his vision of the world, as it differs so greatly from Ron Moore's version. Way too soon Universal.

I'm down for this, I feel like the only person who thought the new Battlestar Galactica was extremely boring, dull, and should have been canceled after the first season. But that's my opinion on the series, so hopefully the new movie won't be so dull to me.

the TV show was great. You can't outdo that (cept maybe some of the CGI robots) but other than that it was amazing. The only reason their doing this is because Star Trek did so well in theaters. They wanna make another space epic, and im hopeful but hell its just gonna confuse people. The reimagined BG that just went off the air is whats in everyones mind. Seeing something totally different called Battlestar Galactica is like I said. Just gonna confuse the hell out of people.

I'll check it out. But I'm not really expecting it to come close to the level of greatness that was Ronald D. Moore's TV series. I more looking forward to the final BSG television movie "The Plan" in November.
