Downey Jr as Lestat?

now do I believe this? no. Why? Its bloodydisgusting.com is why. I will always take any news they break first as bullshit until a more credible site comes along. But since this caught my eye because of Robert Downey Jr, and the Arrow also posted it I'll put it on here anyway.

I tried reading these books, and I couldn't get into them. They were very very boring. But as movies I personally thought Interview With a Vampire was great, and I could give a rats ass if Queen of the Damned isn't like the book because Stuart Townsend was AWESOME as Lestat, let alone a vampire in general. I think Downey Jr. is a great actor and yeah he could pull this off. But I still don't see this.

I like him better as a smartass type character. Which I guess is how Tom Cruise kinda portrayed him so if he goes in that direction it might work. But when push comes to shove they could deffinatly get a worse actor. I'll watch anything the guys in if the movie sounds remotely interesting.

I always believed Tom Cruise was 100% miscast as Lestat. I've read IWTV and Lestat and a few other Rice novels. IMO, Julian Sands would have made the perfect Lestat. RD Jr.? I can see this. He's a great actor and with the right make-up and clothing could pull it off. Sounds good to me.

RDJ can do any part, but i don't think he fits the part visually. I can only talk based on the ilms though i don't read anne rice so i can't speak based upon the novels.

You all cant deny that Cruise and Downey are so much alike, and play very similar roles. I think Downey might be good, he has does dark eyes like a vampire.

I've read all the books and I have to say that they get worse as the stories go on. I avoided the last 3 books she wrote since the last ones I read really sucked.

As for RDJ,it will be interesting to see if this is true,and I would like to see if he can pull it off.from what I understand,TALE OF THE BODY THIEF is the next in line for the movie treatment,and although not one of the better books,has some interesting plot pieces in it.

The original sucked, was VERY boring and melodramatic, and this is gonna suck too. Though I'm biased as I HATE romanticized, melodramatic vampire movies.

I just.. don't see Robert Downey Jr as Lestat. Cruise was ok but I liked Stuart Townsend in the role better. Interview was good..but Queen of the Damned did NOT do the book justice. I was excited at first to see it because I loved the book.. and then it sucked majorly.
