If he continues to do what he thinks makes the movies better, then why would he remake them? He's completing his vision with all the special effects and dialogue change. Remaking the movies would make all those changes he did in vain. He's been editing the movies ever since 1981 when Star Wars became Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. So that's almost thirty years thrown down the drain by the way of remake.
If anything, he's remaking them right now. Greedo shoots first, Han talks to Jabba in the hanger with Boba Fett hanging out near by, all sorts of aliens celebrating after the destruction of the second Death Star, Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw, etc. So will there be a remake of the movies? Yeah, they've already came out.
