Whack MMA fighter is the new Jason Voorhees?

I won't be posting this rumor on the regular site since it's likely BS, but I thought I'd mention it here since it's interesting and there are a lot of MMA fans.

Anyway, according to Frighters.com former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia is the new Jason Voorhees for the upcoming Friday the 13th sequel. The article claims that the film is already shooting in Boston.

Unless they're for some reason keeping the whole project a secret, production shouldn't haven't even begun yet, especially since a director hasn't been chosen, or at least announced anyway. Plus, I see no reason for them to replace Derek Mears, let-alone, replace him with some random MMA guy with no background in acting or stunts.

LOL... i saw mears at a convention, and he was sitting next to Jake Busey... so I took a picture but did it so the Busey sign was over Mears head... I then went to tell my friends that that was indeed Busey.
