After I enjoyed U-Turn I noticed many people commenting how it rips off a film called Red Rock West, which I promptly added to my list of films to watch. Well I just finished checkin' it and it does indeed have similarities with U-Turn, but in the end is clearly a far superior film.
The story follows Nic Cage as a down-on-his-luck man passing through a small town, where he gets mistaken for a hired killer by a shady businessman. Being the brokeass that is is, Nic Cage takes advantage of the situation, which he will soon discover to be far more serious than he had ever imaged. It turns out that the businessman wants his wife dead and Nic's character is supposed to be the right guy for the job.
I'd rather not give too much of the story away, as the surprise twists and characters it introduces as you watch it will keep you really glued to the screen. I was hooked from start to finish and would recommend others to give it a check if they haven't yet.
