Is Jason a Zombie?

Most zombies are the product of disease so in the Romero sense of the word Jason can't be a zombie. Serpent and the Rainbow Zombies require a drug so that wouldn't work either. If he is a spirit then he can't be a zombie. Jason also thinks for himself which is atypical of zombie behavior.

Conclusion.: Not a zombie

Maybe.... I don't think so, but he very well could be. Lots of zombie types don't eat brains, some eat flesh and some eat nothing at all. Some follow basic needs of survival and some try to continue doing what they did in life. SOme zombies can be killed only by destroying the brain, while others can only be slain by complete bodily destruction. Although he doesn't spread a disease he has shown the ability to possess (Jason Goes To Hell). He is far beyond a zombie and is a completely different breed of undead.
SO writing this has made me see that HEll NO, he is no zombie.

This is a good question, but than again some of the vampires are considered to be zombies...
question one is he dead and does he still function? yes
question two does he kill and eat the living? he kills them but does not eat them...
I think that would make him some type of living dead but not a zombie.

Trying to answer the question is giving me a migrane. Jason does indeed fit some of the criteria for falling into the category of Zombie, but then there are other criteria that isn't being met which would disqualify him as such.

I just write him off as an unstoppable killing machine, and leave it at that.
