80's Slasher SLEDGEHAMMER Coming to DVD!

Before I go into details I just want to say I am putting this in the news section because I feel it belongs in news more than DVD.

Well if any if you guys are close to me on the site than you know you I have a certain affection for one forgotten SOV 80's slasher called Sledgehammer. In fact I like the movie so much I decided to track down the director and see if I could purchase the rights to the film.

And after a long process I am proud to announce that I am going to own the rights to release Sledgehammer on DVD in the United States and Canada!

This is a pretty big deal to me as I've always been interested in doing my part for anything in the horror genre. So I am starting up my own independent DVD label called Riot Releasing to release Sledgehammer on. Hopefully if this release goes well I can help out independent artists and forgotten horror films, to see the rightful release they deserve.

But as of right now I have a lot of work to do with getting this DVD ready. I will have an official looking press sheet made up soon to send out to various sites and I will even post it on the main page of UHM. As of right now I can give you guys a basic outline of what I want to have on the DVD.

• Remastered Video and Audio from VHS Print
• Hammer to the Head: A 'Sledgehammer' Retrospective- A feature length retrospective doc about the making of Sledgehammer. Written, directed, shot and made completely by me. I already have a good chunk of the cast and director David A. Prior on board to be in it
• Audio Commentary with director David A. Prior, Actor Ted Prior and moderated by none other than yours truly.
• Reunion Slide Show
• First Ever 'Sledgehammer' Trailer
• 1000 Limited Copies signed by Director, David A. Prior

and maybe some other stuff but hopefully that's what I can get done for special features.

So I will continue to update this thread with cover art and details on how the project is unfolding. If you have any questions or just want to lend a helping hand please comment and help spread the word around!

15-20 bucks for basically 2 features on one disc plus signed by the director isn't going to be ridiculously expense.
