now ive said before I'm not a remake hater. Someone said here before that give me an "original" idea and I can name about 15 movies where its been done before. Very true statement I think. Some remakes suck, some don't. Some don't need to happen....and some really do. But this one? Its just got me scratching my head. Now the original director having something to do with the remake isn't always a bad idea.
But the first time Cronenberg made this IT WAS A REMAKE. I mean granted you could go with "reimagining" considering it was leaps and bounds in the differences to the original, and I guess since you went in a different direction with the first remake he could do that again. Just because Cronenberg is doing it again doesn't mean it'll be the same. He could go in a completely different direction. But I can't help but think the special effects won't even begin to touch the first remakes effects. That in itsself makes me believe it won't be as good as his first go round with it. They'll CG it up probably.
