I never really cared for that one. I was always a bigger fan of, "This is God." The Primetime quote led to shit like, "Rick, you little meatball," and, "Now I'm playing with power!" Yeah, take that Englund enthusiasts. He played with a fucking NES. How bad does that sting?

One more thing, thank God Freddy's back in the fucking shadows again. It seems he had spotlights on him by the end of the series.

Re-casting someone to play Freddy would be like remaking Rocky or Rambo and re-casting those roles...it's not a good idea. This movie sucks by default because Kruger isn't played by Robert...period. And I don't care about your little differing opinions, or your little rebuttals...esp. from Cmurdur...it's all hot air. Fact is fact, and the fact is Robert Englund is the only man fit to play Freddy Kruger.

As i said, part 1 was decent. Part 2 wasn't completely bad, i liked the premise of Freddy wanting to get back into the real world. after that the only Freddy movie i liked was FvJ.

No, it isn't - we are continuing to refine Freddy's look. Many people commented about the CGI on his face - and I don't want to give everything away but I will say this - Freddy's face is 98% practical make-up. Moreover, as you now know we went hardcore on what a burn victim really looks like, and I can't imagine what the comments would have been if he DIDN'T look like a real burn victim.

Is that Freddy's final voice?

No, Jackie spent so much time on the voice, researching what people who've has their vocal cords burned sound like. He is still working on it and I suspect that we will be refining it, until the last moment.

Glad that the voice in the trailer won't be the final voice. Still, I have a feeling it's going to end up sounding stupid. I wish they would just get Robert Englund to do all the voice overs. Or better yet I wish they would have built a time machine and brought a younger Robert Englund into our time to do the whole movie.

I loved everything I saw...except for the one split second of what freddy looked like.

I'm hoping it's just an effect and freddy's face will look a little more malleable rather than a scarecrow mask...but we'll see.

I'm really looking forward to this...in fact I can't wait. I've only read a few comments and I'm giving it a chance. As much as I love the "Nightmare" movies series some of the sequels were pretty craptacular.

Thinking the same thing. NMOEL remake will never be the original movie itself, why try to compare? Just give it a shot, for better or worse we must accept remakes as inevitable. I want horror in theaters, might as well meet mainstream half-ways.

Honestly yes. We're not talking about some generic monster like Dracula or Frankenstein...we're not talking about a mouth breathing, hockey mask wearing character like Jason...we're talking about a villan with a real personality that has been played by one man for almost 30 years now. I don't know if you're a fan of the Ernest movies at all..but could you HONESTLY see ANYONE but Jim Varney playing him?? I can't...which is why there will never be another Ernest movie. If Hollywood can decide that a lucrative franchise like that can be put the rest once the man can't play the role anymore..the same can be done with Elm St. The problem here is that Englund still has plenty of good Freddy years left.

When i see this i'm going to ignore the factor that it's a remake and watch it and judge it by its own merits and/or flaws.
It really should't matter who's playing the character as long as he does it well. There was nothing frightening about Freddy after the first 2 films and maybe they can actually bring back the terror that he's suposed to instill...
