I say kudos to filmmakers that off children in their movies...it is controversial most people dont see it coming.

as a mother, i think how can they do that shit. but as a horror lover, i give props to the film makers for going out and doing it. if it makes me cringe its good.
as for stomach turning, i cannot handle vomit. i can usually manage fine, but the is one scene in feast that i almost lost it. even thinking about it makes me gag

I agree with you in the same way... I just hate the thought of little kids cause that is my big fear not being able to protect my kids and seeing horror movies portray that makes me grab my kids up and just hug the hell out of them.

The only thing that makes me ill is a dark theater and a shaky cam (talkin' to you Blair Witch and Quarantine)...oh and that Pig Blend scene in Saw 4, that kinda took my appetite away.

I'm more disturbed by quasi-psychic kids in supposedly classy movies who are in constant peril just for the easy tug on the heart strings. No, you can't kill that kid, but you can scar his psyche to hell and back.

I was disturbed by the movie The Children. I just thought how helpless we adults would be..it made me look at my four boys and blink a few times. I mean it made me cringe and want to cry at the same time.

LOL! I am sorry but I think that even if some shit happens like that movie the plague my kids would still take one look at mommy with her pissed off face and say yes mommy and behave. I strongly believe in the saying "Spare the rod spoil the child" Now I am not saying to beat them to the point that they are brain dead but find something that they will see as just the worst thing ever... For my boys I say hand and they stick their hands out and start crying before I hit them. I think that the movies of killer kids is more of a waring that if you treat your child like their shit is gold they will act like that and not give a fuck about you.

I am guessing that you have no kids... The thought of something happening to them and you not being able to protect them is hell on Earth. I know the first time that my son fall down because he was running and would not listen I called my dad up and told him sorry for all the times that I did not listen to him... And that was about a five day conversation...

No kids, far as I know, but I am very involved in my niece's/nephew's lives (happens when they live with you)... that count?

Don't get me wrong, not trying to argue what content is good/bad. All I am saying is movies (and most art forms) are designed around getting an emotional response from the veiwer. If they got an emotional response (even a disgusted one) from you, aren't they doing what they are supposed to do?

As far as Feast 2 goes - I watched this with my mom dad and sister. My father and i laughed our asses off and rehashed that scene for weeks after it was so horribly funny. Of course we caught a lot o slack from the moms and sis.
And what's so new about dead kids - Original night of the living dead!!!
I'm as close to my roommates daughter as you can get when the kid isn't your blood and the thought of not being able to protect her does frighten me. BUt that emotional attachment should enhance the film's affect on its viewers.

Nothing seems to make me sick (though my mom can't get through the first 5 minutes of Wrong Turn 2 without feeling sick), but the rape scenes in some movies do upset me. I Spit On Your Grave's (not a horror movie) gang rape scene made me both cringe..and hope like hell they all got killed soon.

Sick? No. I felt a little 'off' after watching Nekromantik 1 and 2 though. I think it was more the seal scene (I think it was a seal..) that bothered me more.

And I need to check out Feast 2+3 soon, its damn lame that those are not released in region 2 yet.

Now you see I went though that and I cannot sit and watch a scene with it in it. I made my husband fast forward through the rape scenes just due to the fact that I feel like... Like I am dirty again. It is hard to explain but there are some things I can sit and watch like a guy having his organs ripped out his ass and not do anything but laugh but to see a rape makes me want to go to a room and lock the door and hide in a closet.

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this, but recently I saw Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and I was visibly upset after the scene where he is filming himself torture a couple in their living room, and their little boy came home. I was fine with the torture, but when he jumped on the boy and immediately snapped his neck, I started to feel sick.
Of course, this is less of a horror film and more of an art film to reflect society, so it's not like they made the scene for entertainment.
