    None of these look good.

First time my knife touched skin
And the red blood started flowing so quick I just couldn't quit
Kept stabbing until everything that I seen was red
The pillow, the blankets, the walls, and even the bed
One color dominating everything like contemporary art
Am I the killer or artist with bloody heart?
Then I curled into a ball in the corner of the room
Feeling like a creep in the light of the moon

Agreed the movies were not perfect probably should have phrased that better but a remake would add nothing. Whether you consider a movie perfect or not is down to opinion.
Agreed again that Friday The 13th was not good by todays standards at least but when it was made was considered a really good movie. Just thought by doing a remake/sequel there was nothing to add. Seemed like all it was about was a bunch of teens running around and geting killed, no proper story.

You could look at a new version of The Crow as a remake, but that may not be entirely accurate. It could very well be someone else wanting to take their own crack at doing a movie version of one of the other Crow comics... there have been more than one, including one mini-series of a female Crow...

... that or you could be right... it could be just a money-grubbing greed-inspired flick that's attempting to cash in on the name...

Every movie ever made can be improved in some way; acting, lighting, cinematography, etc.

Movies can always be imrpoved yes but why should they be. If your constatly watching a movie thinking the lighting could have been different, the camera angle could have been better then you will never enjoy a movie. I am the same with music as I done a degree in popular music i find it very hard to listen to a song and not critisise it. Maybe we should all keep a more open mind in everything and we would enjoy things a lot more.

I have an idea, why not quit bitching about a remake until you see it? If it sucks, then it SUCKS... if it's good, then RIGHT ON!....

People tend to automatically damn a remake simply because it's a remake... that's narrow-minded and kinda stupid.... You have automatically decided it will suck, you will compare it to the original and nit-pick the FUCK out of it and in the end, you will justify your own preemptive judgement. Pretty fuckin foolish... Remakes are gonna keep happening, whether you mofos like it or not... might as well make an honest attempt get some sort of enjoyment out of them, because, like it or not, there's not a whole hell of a lot left that hasn't been done before... you can accept this or get used to disappointment and bitterness, because with the exception of a few moments here and there, that's all you have left to look forward to.

Remakes are whatever at this point.

They are made to bank off a name that was once bankable whether it was a standalone movie or a series of movies.

Like Warbeast said, its a toss up in terms of like/dislike.

I enjoy the fuck out of a lot of movies; doesn't mean I can't critique them. Keeps me sharp and only strengthens my taste in movies.

The remake issue for me is not that they're remaking movies, but that it seems every other movie coming out is a remake. I liked some of the recent remakes including F13 and Halloween (haven't seen 2 yet so leave me alone).
I'll give em a chance, but these guys spend a shitload of money to make these movies and I'm starting to think that they're afraid people won't spend the dough to see something new so they go with something people are familiar with.
Course i could be talking out my ass.

I think it's rather humourous that an argument broke out over the Friday the 13th remake in this particular thread, when the original itself is often looked at as a remake/re-imaging/what have you of Bay of Blood/Twitch of the Death Nerve.

While I generally dislike remakes, there can be improvements made. That said, I generally pass them up in their initial run so that at least lower box office returns will send a message, as it's all studio heads see. Generally if I enjoy the original, I'll pass, unless the concept has been tweaked or changed enough that it's in name only, and the new concept is something that interests me in some way (Dawn 2004).

For example I still haven't seen Halloween2, and probably won't for some time as Zombie's first attempt was two hours of everything I disliked about his first two films and Danielle Harris.
