Kajganich goes on to say that he plans "to be very protective of the book" and that, despite the novel's immense length, Warner Brothers still wants to make this as a single film. "You have my promise, though, that I will do this with the utmost humility and respect for King's work. He's the King, after all, and I intend to continue to pledge to him my allegiance." Sounds like they really couldn't have hired a better writer for this. Although I'm not too familiar with his past work, I'm confident that Kajganich will do a good job. Now they just need to find the right director. Might I suggest Trick 'r Treat's Mike Dougherty?

Videodrome

Universal Pictures has given the green light for a remake of David Cronenberg’s 1983 movie, “Videodrome” according to Variety. The new remake will reportedly take the original film’s concept, modernize it, infuse it with the possibilities of nano-technology and blow it up into a large-scale sci-fi action thriller.

Well, I've seen all those movies and I have to say I dont think any of them would benifit from a remake, even Mother's Day, which was cheesy as hell. Guess I'll have to wait to see more on what they do with them, but it just seems like more of the same, cashing in on an older horror movie's name.

Edit:After a bank robbery gone wrong, three brothers head for home…only to discover that their mother lost the house in a foreclosure. The new owners and their guests, gathered for an ill-timed birthday party, become the brothers’ unwitting hostages. Their mother and sister arrive, and it soon becomes obvious that Mother will do absolutely anything to protect her children. In one terrifying evening, Mother brilliantly takes control of the situation and masterminds her sons’ escape. Sides will be taken, secrets revealed, and sins punished as the hostages struggle to make it through the night.
If thats the direction Mother's Day is going, it already sounds like its going to be horrible.

It might be good now that SFX have gotten better, wouldn't mind seeing that. To be honest, other than Tim Curry the first one wasn't even that good.

Looking forward to the "IT" remake. "Videodrome sounds like an epic fail; I forsee a PG-13 with watered-down everything and loads of bad CGI. Kind of reminds of what happened to Phillip K Dick's "Paycheck".

I thought susperia SUCKED, hell I only made it through 45 minutes before I almost literally died of boredom. So I'd say remake away, but lets face it that would suck too with the storyline they got goin on.

First off its Suspiria and I dont know how you could get bored since it has one of the most interesting beginning scenes in da horror genre. You probably have no taste in good movies.
