Walking Dead series...

Having left the whole franchise in the rear view mirror long ago. The Rick/Michonne spinoff news doesn't make much difference to me. It just seems like a desperate hail mary from AMC, with the logic being they know all they've been doing is throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks with all the spinoffs. Now they hope bringing back the title character from the pilot will be enough to defib interest. Perhaps in a limited, final run, etc people might be curious. Yet to be tone deaf to flesh it out into another long winded, stale series like everything else is enough to tell me they have no plans on winding down the franchise.

It would be the same thing with the rumored John Snow sequel GOT series. A limited interest in a post GOT world, but of course I believe HBO is going to find out the hard way that they burned too many bridges with GOT fans over the last few seasons of that show. In consequence, House of the Dragon will ensure a John Snow series probably never happens.

Well, after all these years the series is finally over (sorta). I dunno who else here stuck with it all this time, but I can understand if you didn't. There were quite a few really bad seasons, but it still remained interesting to me overall. They've set up all these new spinoffs, so while the main series is over, the story continues, specifically we'll see WTF is going on with Rick.

A series as a whole I'll give it a solid 7/10. It started off great, then kinda plateaued for a bit before going downhill, but it ultimately made up for a lot of stuff by the end.

I jumped ship a couple of times after the writing started to get too abysmal, but would always come back around in the end and get myself caught back up.

I plan on catching the spin-offs, and hope there's a more competent crew running this ship this time as opposed to the shit show that made up the second half of TWD series.

Yeah, I'm glad I never kept up with this series after Seasons 1 & 2. The only good thing to come out of this shitty series was Frank Darabont getting the compensation he was owed when AMC screwed him out of his own series he was producing. I look forward to the day this series gets forgotten in time.

I've seen bits and pieces of the spin-offs and later episodes randomly and the writing was god awful I honestly don't know how people kept watching it that's an anomaly to me, not even Greg Nicotero's great zombie effects could save the series from being a total loss but I'm glad he's off making Creepshow with its fair share of good and terrible episodes so you can't win them all I guess.

Bottom line, screw this series and AMC is bad at what they do they're scum and this series could've been great but they blew it.

I stuck it out until the final episode of the main show after I started watching it back in 2013. Seasons 2-5 were by far my favorites but I thought they did a solid job wrapping up the main show and setting up the spinoffs. Plus, seeing Rick Grimes again was so satisfying and I can't wait until the Rick/Michonne spinoff in 2023. I absolutely love what Andrew Lincoln brought to the Rick Grimes character and can't wait to see him back next year!

I'll watch The Writing Dead spinoffs of course, but Black Summer is as about as close to anything resembling a realistic post apocalyptic series out there that you're going to get on TV - flaws and all. A solid show. Underrated, and under appreciated.

Black Summer's Instagram account has been a lot more active the past few weeks posting stories.
However it still has not been renewed. On the bright side it hasn't been cancelled yet either.
It was two years in between season 1 and 2. Season 2 was in 2021 sooooo hopefully we are due.

Seen both spinoffs and they're pretty much a mixed bag. Same old flaws, and inconsistent writing that plagued TWD basically carries over to the spinoffs. Not surprised at all really, but i had hoped they'd have learned from their mistakes and made TWD world something memorable again.
I don't suspect that this one is going to be any different, but i do hope i'm wrong.

The trailer for this show looks absolutely incredible! I'm not even kidding when I tell you that I have been waiting for the return of Rick Grimes since he left the main show back in 2018.
