I love the zombie genre...that is no secret 'round these parts...been here a long friggin' time and have force fed the zombie genre down many a members throat thru out the years....but I gotta say...this show sux bigtime. What a waste.

In other words: fans can say goodbye to those episode-long, self-contained stories, like Tara’s drawn-out solo trip to Oceanside. It’s impossible to say whether episodes like these are what drove ratings downward for The Walking Dead last season, but the way Gimple tells it, the change-up for Season 8 was a pre-planned shift rather than a reaction to fan frustration.

Well, well, well... congratulations Gimple. It only took you five seasons to figure out that you needed to go back to not doing bullshit filler episodes, good job.
Can we expect another five for you to figure out how bad the equation for killing off characters we don't care about is?
Or maybe another five after that to figure out that killing off characters we dont know is not very impacting for us?

It's amazing how my feelings for this "show" have changed. Terrible show...but my love for the zombie genre will keep me tuned in....unfortunately.

But it changed because the writing staff changed, right?
1, 2, 3 were done by a creative person who understood what made the comics great but also wanted to give us something a bit different. Gimple comes in and starts making 101 mistakes, but they are not really 101 mistakes, simply basic cable syfy channel bullshit. He started deeming characters untouchable, which really killed the tension and suspense of the show.He started doing filler episodes to extend the seasons for no good reason.etc.

Andrea has officially bitten the dust in the latest issue and she was with Rick.

I think its safe to assume given how much this showrunner keeps the comics close. That this has severe implications for a certain character moving forward. Not likely for a season or two, but still.

Gimple recently stated in an interview that he thinks the show can go till 2030.

Though I think that could easily be him talking through what the network thinks. The Network is in deep trouble and the Walking Dead is the only thing keeping it afloat. Plus I think most of the cast would be embarrassed to stick with the show that long. It would be career suicide.

I would end the show as soon as possible...like as in this upcoming season. Their only strength is hype and what better way to hype a disgruntled fandom than letting them know its the final season and anybody can go. But of course, they won't and AMC will milk this thing until they find something that can replace TWD as a go to ratings show. FTWD is their number 2 show in the ratings and everything else gives them nothing.

...........Remember our experience with Allan Garfield on The Majestic? We were all so shocked because it was like he had no grasp of the basics of his craft? And it turned out later that he’d had a stroke he was unaware of? And a few months after we wrapped, the massive secondary stroke happened that put him permanently in the hospital?

I am honest-to-God wondering if Gwyneth hasn’t experienced the same thing. That’s how fundamentally f—ed this footage is. It’s as if she’s totally lost her grasp of what to do. It’s like we yanked some kid with no experience out of high school and put her in charge of directing a show. And what’s really weird is that she doesn’t seem to know it..........

I've not watched Fear the Walking Dead in ages. I just can never get into it anymore. It's nothing like its big brother series, because it has little to do with zombies scaring the piss out of us anymore.

The trailer was way too much fluff as usual. Pandering to the fans. It was like ok, Negan isn't as liked as he is in the comic, so we're gonna give you your favorite characters and make sure we beat it over your heads that they are gonna win this thing and if that's not enough...we'll throw in a vague cliffhanger. Is it a massive time jump or dream sequence?

It literally gives away the entire season. That's not a dream sequence, its the three year skip that happens after all out war is won.
In the comics they wanted to give the gang a bit of a break, so after all out war they basically made it so everything was fine and dandy for three years and didnt show it. Within that time Rick starts to get very old, uses that cane and well..... season 9 could be interesting. But hey, we know whats going to happen there... the whispers.

I didnt notice shiva's death give away but... whatever.. i already knew it was going to happen. Nothing is surprising on this show anymore.

Apparently they confirmed at the NY comic-con that a character from TWD or FTWD will appear in the other show. They didn't specify which character and from what show, but the crossover that we all expected will apparently happen next year. I'm hoping a character from TWD will show up in FTWD since Fear is desperately lacking in interesting characters, plus TWD has more than enough to spare.
