...did anyone else see that map twist and Negan being onto Dwight all the while coming from a mile away? No surprises there at all -- Gimple seems to prefer Negan be omnipotent and to be able to know and see things he could not possibly know or see. Also, bad editing and a confusing performance in the moment from JDM had me thinking Negan actually stopped himself short of strangling Simon to death. When it cuts a few minutes later to Simon as a zombie, I was like, what the fuck?

I am so fuckin' bored with this show...I keep watching because of my love for the zombie genre (Romero) and am let down regularly. Every week....the woods....some z kills....isolated neighborhoods....some z kills....lunatics vs. "good" people...some z kills....inspirational speeches, internal conflict amongst friends, bad planning, and WAY TOO MUCH TALKING! What a waste.

They gave away the ending at the start of the first episode of this season... you knew it was coming... how can you feel cheated?

By the way, talk about fucking up timelines. Are we now supposed to believe that FTWD is caught up with TWD? Just last season we saw them dealing with things within the first 9 months of the breakout. Timeline wise they should be at about... ehh... the prison? But no... apparently 3 years have passed AND on top of that, however long it took black guy to hitchhike half way across the country.

Talk about an utterly anticlimactic finale to a relentlessly underwhelming season. Worse still...

...aside from a bunch of red shirts, they didn't even bother to kill off anyone. Which means we're stuck with even MORE Negan in the future. And don't get me started on Maggie, Jesus and Daryl all vowing to revolt against Rick. That entire scene felt tacked on and arbitrary, and contradicts so much of what we know about Maggie and Daryl (though not Jesus, as he has yet to be developed all that much beyond "gay, knows karate."

The good news is that Gimple has wrecked this show and mangled the characters so completely that the new show-runner next season will have nowhere to go but up.

Its a little argument, she ends up seeing things Rick's way and that's that. I think she gets poisoned in the middle of it by that one guy, the old leader of the hilltop.

So apparently Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Andew Lincoln (Rick) are looking to leave the show next season. Apparently they're both rumored to only be in half a dozen eps? This actually makes me a bit hopeful for the new season since the show is in some serious dire need of change and losing a character like Rick would definitely change a lot storywise. Supposedly AMC is looking to Norman Reedus to become the new leader of the group

They already killed Carl, the whole saga is about him.
Now they're going to kill off Rick and Maggie, there goes any of the original material and i dont trust them to create their own.
How about they cancel this shit and give us Lilly?

With Lincoln's departure, so goes what remaining interest I had in the show. He was the only reason I endured this steadily deteriorating claptrap for the last five seasons. Can't say I blame him for leaving, though. This ship's been sinking for a while now, IMO.

I stick with it because i'm a sucker for post-apoc shows and movies so i'll most likely follow it to the bitter end, but it's plain to see that this ships been steadily taking on water as the seasons roll on.

Lincoln is the nucleus, and if he goes it's probably going to go down even faster IMO. At this point i'd rather just see them end the show after his last season than have him pull a Morgan or be killed off. I shake my head nearly every time I stop and think about the state that TWD has become. Can't lay the blame at the feet of the Captain Trips virus... it was ineptness that killed this show.

The show never recovered from fucking over Darabont all those years ago. A lot of the speculation is Andy wanted out because they fired Chandler/Carl.

Really should plot out an end game and stop trying to milk it until the cow is dry.

To me, the death won't matter because this show has proven time and again that it doesn't do fuck all with the deaths that happen. The characters become complete afterthoughts because they gotta rush things to keep the show interesting for the masses, or at least what they think they think is interesting.
