I haven't watched the last two episodes even though I heard positive reviews. Why couldn't Kang take charge like two seasons ago? We would still have Rick and Carl, and this season would quite honestly be my favorite. It's just not the same.

Pretty good mid-season finale, those whisperers are creepy as hell. They did a good job bringing them to the small screen. Too bad the show itself is getting lower and lower ratings each week considering it's actually gotten better.

That usually happens when your star actor isn't on the show anymore. Lol

My worry is the Network forced the writers hands when she decided to leave and so they've probably used her as the catalyst for all the communities falling out with one another, Michonne's big scar from the episode, etc. This way they can trash her through the character and make it easier for themselves in the event she comes back next season or years later, just to quickly kill her off in the same episode they bring her back in. Just typical laziness really, plus it would make zero sense for that character.

Hopefully when she returns everything makes sense. I believe Angela Kang has a plan in place for the Maggie character. I actually couldn't stand Maggie for the longest time, but I really liked her this season and the way she was running Hilltop. Man, if only Glenn was still around, I can only imagine the fights those two would be having.

I just finished the first half of Season 9 and am disappointed. I wish Angela Kang took over before Gimple decided to kill off Carl. I did enjoy how Season 8 ended with Rick sparing Negan in order to pay tribute to his dead son, but having Rick leave the show literally 5-6 episodes later killed the whole "New Beginning" vibe I was digging. The writing in Season 9 has been spectacular and the Whisperers are freaky as shit, but the show just feels empty without Rick. If he ever returns to the show it won't be until well after the Whisperer War sadly and I HATE that. But say Season 12-13 you have Rick show up and man that scene will be so emotional once the group sees that he's still alive. His first encounter with Judith will be surreal if they decide to bring him back.

They have already said that Rick is never going to make a reappearance in the Walking Dead series. That being said after awhile they could change thier minds and allow it to happen, but I'm almost certain that if they ever do bring Rick back it won't be Lincoln in the role.

The series has been very soap opera-ish since Negan arrived. But I still like it. I think the walkers themselves however don't pose much of a threat any more, but that can change when humans are appearing in their skins!

Carl/Negan/Lydia was something I waited years to see unfold during the Whisperer war and it's been replaced by a dead Carl and Henry. No thanks. Rick's departure did it for me.

Yeah, I just caught up with Season 9 and really do love the storyline and the writing of the show reminds me back to the earlier seasons.

I was impressed by the latest ep. Good pacing. The Highwaymen thing wrapped up fast and nicely and that fight at the end was pretty solid. Hopefully the last eps for the season will be as well paced.
