The Walking dead came along and was is something on TV that makes me smile and happy.. And brought zombies back.. I wont abandon it unless it gets really awful

I'd be in denial if I didn't feel the same way Toby feels about the show because I sorta felt that way after season 1 and season 1 many would argue was more balanced than season 2 so far by a good margin. I honestly didn't know if I was going to give the show another shot or even feel if the show had any redeemable qualities and this was before I bothered to give the comic a chance. I did warm up to season 1 eventually after a repeat run.

I've read up to Hershels farm in the comic after I decided to give the show another chance at the beginning of season 2 and what keeps me interested in both entities is the fact that Kirkman is still involved in both and both are diverse and not one in the same.

One of the creators still has a hand in the project and as long as that's a reality. I think the show will be ok. A lot of people point to Darabont as the massive loss for the show but for me the real loss would be Kirkman hauling ass outta town and taking the show with him.

No doubt Darabont leaving was a game changer for Season 2, not the show, not yet. I reserve judgement on that until again Kirkman decides enough is enough and im sure he recognizes the major complains of Season 2 and will put some fire under AMC for Season 3. Now I know people are gonna say who cares, Kirkman is getting paid regardless of quality. To me that's not fair until we see what Season 3 is like.

All this said. This is not some speech designed to get people off the edge of the boat. Just my perspective of the show since the beginning. Its still one of a kind so far and keeping me interested. Another one might not come for a long time. I'd venture we'd get more stuff in the pipeline of True Blood which I sorta like or Vampire Diary nonsense before we ever get a plethora of zombie related tv stuff to work with.

The zombie genre is a harder sell to general audiences than vampires, plain and simple. Point being if the show sputters into cancellation. It looks bad for Kirkman, AMC for getting rid of Darabont/general mismanagement of the shows content/spoilers/budget concerns. Most of all else the genre in general.

If it fails, another show might not come down the pipe for a long time.

I will continue to watch this show in the hopes that there is more action soon to come. But yesterday's episode was boring. Many things have been pissing me off lately and one of those is about Carl. Everyone is so worried about protecting him, yet three times he did shit he shouldn't be doing. I wont miss Dale, I liked him at first, but he got annoying pretty quick. Ugh, come on AMC step it up.

I was disappointed with last night's episode as well. Dale was a great character, it's not as much his fault he was annoying in Season 2 it's the writers' faults, but he went out in a stupid way as well...Darryl is my only favorite character in this show but even he's starting to become a bit of a rub-off character, I almost thought Darryl was the zombie in the woods Carl found out there.

As for everyone else, I don't give a shit anymore.

After Season 2's episodes have finished up I'm calling it quits. I've had my fill with whatever these pathetic writers and what AMC has to offer, the dumb cheap-assed snooze fest of a tv series that doesn't balance the horror and characters in a good way, maybe it's like that in the comics too but maybe that's another reason it doesn't entice me to go read them.

Everyone else, defend your passion and keep it going however you'd like, after Season 2's over, I'm aborting.

In short its almost like saying this show is shit and im not watching anymore but im going to watch the next two episodes just to tell everyone its shit again indefinitely.

Granted he could watch the next two episodes and decide to change his mind and give season 3 an early chance kinda like my situation stated earlier but the tone/wording leaves skepticism.

That's what I'm saying, if this show could bring back the interesting aspects of these characters while balancing the action with the drama in a good way then I'll praise this show again, but I'm not going to get that.

Reason why I've called it quits so far is because last night's episode was so fucking dumb, it's actually a fantastic example of what Season 2 is all about: Stupid annoying characters that're unrealistic and are down-right unlikable you have no character to pin your heart and effort to watch on the zombbies just become your main characters afterwards, stupid unnecessary scenes that add nothing to plot nor are they executed the right way to have any effect nor do they do anything for the characters to develop.

The way they did season 2 didn't give me anything I cared to know, even if it was about the character depth, while it was all good to see them change you knew who to pick in terms of your favorite it just makes the characters more of a target to be hated than to root for them. I've bitched about this show not having zombie action but if you want my honest opinion the zombies are fuckin' BUTCH characters compared to these survivors. The reason why I hated the fact that Darabont was booted off is because that guy is a great director, he has vision and he tells stories in a good way with his vision.

The way this show is directed is like a fuckin' soap opera, it's very dull, it's slow-paced, it's boring and it seems when the zombie action is given the thumbs up it becomes too-little too-late, at least for me. The scene where the zombie is just digging his face through the windshield? Fucking incredible. Why can't there be more visuals like that, or like the ones when Rick was telling Carl to apologize to Carol? Even if the story and characters have to suffer that doesn't mean the visuals have to either, but all three of these elements are tainted by AMC's codes and regulations, it's not fair to the makers of the show when they need funding and AMC needs to shut the fuck up because they're getting money out of this series! Who cares if Darabont wanted more money to make the next season, he would've kept it interesting AND give you more fuckin' money!

I deeply apologize for the vulgarity and mean-spirited anger I express through this rant, but I will close it with this, is that this show needs to stop having it's ups and downs and needs to make everything interesting again or there's just no point in watching it again, it's a WASTE of filmmaking, time, money and energy!

Doh...I know it's only a tv show and such, but like many I really come to see this television show and realize that tv shows can be given another chance since for me it's been a major hiatus because before there was Walking Dead I didn't bother with tv at all that much, unless it was Law and Order but that's about it. I know I shouldn't get too steamed about these sorts of things, but you really can't help it if you're dedicated to this awesome piece of creativity when you feel all the life and media around you is a complete waste to help grow the hearts and minds of humanity so it wouldn't be caught in an endless loop in time.

Like I said, if the show picks up and stops being a suicidal cockblocker I'll give Season 3 a chance.
