The Wolfman (2010)

Saw this earlier today.

Here we go:

Story: Good (1 complaint: The romance between BDT and EB was uninspired)
Acting: Great (Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blundt and Hugo Weaving)
Kills: Cool
FX: Sweet
Gore: Sweet (thought there would be more)
Action: Some great scenes for sure

Best part of the movie = The Wolfman himself. Awesome looking.

The pace of the film was my one big complaint. Starts slow, then takes off, then slows up again, then takes off again. Got annoying. Not crazy about the ending either.

Overall a cool Wolfman flick and a must see IMO. 7/10

Nicely done. Not perfect, but held up against the classic.

I hope they don't get the idea to remake any others though. The only other one that might pull off a remake would be Creature from the Black Legoon. Dracula, Frankie, and the Mummy already have so much under their belt, a remake doesn't sound right. Creature is less saturated and might pull off a reimaging.

I thought I was gonna fall asleep 'bout thirty minutes into it. But it got better. I was surprised and amused by the amount of gore. I actually thought it'd have a lot less than it did. And there was something very romantic about it in terms of artistry.

I loved it, my only gripe was that the film just felt like it was missing scenes, the characters felt really under developed and the film just skitterd from one random scene to the next.

I can see it now: "Watch the uncut, directors cut on DvD. See the 2 hours of cut footage that makes you wish for the slow pace of the released version!"

I had a few more issues than the pacing . Such as added , and unnecessary characters take Lawrences mother, and Singh who the hell were they, and what was the point in having them since they were insignificant to the storyline? Then there was Ben Talbot sure the character needed to be mentioned, but did he really need to be shown? The scenes with him in it were too short , and really didn't do anything for the storyline ( This is probably where some of the editing took place) . The sanitarium was understandable so I accepted it as reimaging an old story. Blood and gore are very much present which is why it's getting such high reviews

Lawrence's father WTF?? If you watched the previews you could pretty much figure it out, but still WTF??? Since I'm on the subject of Sir John Talbot I have seen a hell of a lot better acting on Anthony Hopkins part. It's almost as if he didn't want to play the role.

I'm not even going to touch upon the romance part of the movie.

I did enjoy the film to a degree , but wouldn't rate it more than a 6.5

Damn I was really sketchy on this one, it seemed like one of those attemots that would fall to the ground. Glad to hear that this one is not a waste, now I am temoted to see it.

Maybe god is rewarding us for not fallowing that shit called Twilight so blindly. We got an awesome Vampire flick last month with Daybreakers and now we got an awesome Werewolf flick, as opposed to the Sparkly ones all the teens love.

I just got back from seeing this at theater with a friend. Movie was pretty sweet, although the acting was fairly bad, considering the cast. On a personal note my friend passed out at the theater and when the movie ended everyone got up, and I looked at him and contemplated if I should wake him up or just leave him there.

The original is one of my favourite werewolf films, and I loved this film, The original was so simple in the way it played out that in my opinion any improvement over it is a good one.
