What about the other films in the series. There were some of them (such as Hellworld) that weren't so bad. Though it seemed to me most of them were "other" films that wound up with the Hellraiser "mythos" tacked on to make the movie sell.

The Girl Next Door.
same name, but not the Elisa Cuthbert comedy. A film depicting the abuse of a girl by a sadistic mother and family, said to be based on a true story. In terms of editing and script, not badly done. But its depiction of physical & psychological cruelty will leave you overwhelmed with depression. Unless you're researching child abuse cases, avoid it.
More execrable - though slightly less traumatic - cinematic kidney stones would be Hannibal Rising, and Blood Harvest - a slasher film with Tiny Tim.

I didn't like Zombie's Halloween 2 either, though I don't think I hated it quite as much as the others on this site. It had some scary moments in it, some creepy atmosphere. I think it was a little better than the original Halloween 2, but that's not saying much.
