Rating for Kick-ass

Never seen the comic, but it seems like the movie might be cool, and the rating for it makes me even more ethused to see it:

Rated R for strong brutal violence throughout, pervasive language, sexual content, nudity and some drug use - some involving children.

Yes, I love that rating....but there is one problem and I think you all can be able to help me with the answer....

Do you think the movie is taking itself to serious. Not saying I don't want to see a fun R rated film, but who, "who" as in terms of someone who isn't a comic book fan, would want to see a film about a kid, who "tries" to be a superhero. But the movie should be fun if executed right. Lets hope for the best.

I think this movie is going to be pretty good. Probably wont be as good as the comics, but they never are.

This movie is going to be terrible. Blankman rip-off, which is a classic.

haha... no its not... Blankman was straight up comedy... this is a dark movie with comedy situations. ssuposedly its pretty in line with the comic, and the comic was awesome.. people getting their faces blown off, awesome fight scenes, and a funny moment here or there...but this is nowhere near a comedy

Yeah, I dont really see this being a Blankman rip off. Yes, in both movies it has someone ordinary deciding to become a "Super Hero" and fight crime, but thats about where the similarities end IMO. I mean, if you want to get that technical, we could say that Blankman was a rip off of Batman.
